i came across a little bit of an idea today, i tryed searching, but if it has been suggested before, i am sorry .

Im sure most of you have seen or used the "join specific game" feature on multiplayer, and as you that have used it will know, it can prove very helpful. My idea is this, if you are looking for a server but want to join it quickly, you type in the name into the box and click connect, but, you have to type the EXACT name in, that includes any "| £ $ % ^ &" that would be in the name. So why not have it so it brings up search results? I dont mean like pages and pages like google, but how about it brings up a list of server names that have the same words in that you searched for? i.e you could put in "Cone Dodgers" and it will come up with all there servers?

Just a suggestion anyway, feel free to discuss

We have many ways to filter servers now, but to filter them by name would also be a great thing

I find that pretty annoying, there may be times friends want to invite you and tell you a server name. Or either you forget a server name you want to join. :|

Nice idea, but if you click the box and press "Control + C" to copy it you can put it in MSN etc, however due to the way LFS works i think you can have a server called "z0mg lol" in blue, and another server called "z0mg lol" in red - the only way to distinguish between these servers is the wierd codes.

Yes, it must not replace the current system, but as an addition it would be great!

I'd like a box drop thing which anticipates servers you've typed in previously - as happens in search engines. If you've typed in 'conedodgers' before, the next time you type the 3 same first letters 'con', a box pops up with that server name in it. That would be great for people who routinely visit private servers and the like.

Have your friend use the 'Find User Online' button - you go into a server and they use that to find you and the server you are in.

Do server names have to be unique?

allso i think some sort of Titles of simerlar servers would be cool, for example if your looking for Redline servers, there is a a + and - at the side of a title "Redline Servers" which shows or hides all the servers by the same racing team

I've got a few idea's on this as well.

When typing in part of the server name, after it gets to 6 letters, it should bring up a little... drop down seclection of partial matches. So the users can then select the one that they would like.

Another good thing, would be a favourties system, so that you can add the server that you love to your fave list of servers, then you dont have to keep refreshing the whole god damn server list just to find the server that you wanna join, without having to remember its server name.

Also, another little pet peeve of mine is the fact that the demo racers can use the IP address of the server to join it and yet the S2 racers cannot use this feature. This would be handy for servers that change their name from time time to (maybe a race event server, that the race event name changes or whatever).

Also, as an extention to the partial server name dropdown, have a dropdown that shows the last 10 servers that you have joined or something. Maybe a configurable amount?

Oh yeah, and for the find user online feature, there should also be a fave list for that too, that you could add your team mates or your friends on it. And rather than seeing one user at a time there should be a "where are my friends playing" or something. and it would show each person, and their stats about that particular server (track, cars, laps, etc)..

Possible history dropdown here too.
