an idea?
this dosnt apply to me but it might arouse some intrest for some, how about some track day style servers, where there are so many instructors and so many drivers, host a dedicated server where ppl who are genuinly intrested in learnin the correct lines could follow an instructor and learn them, learn braking points, learn correct entry/exit lines etc, if everyone used some voice program, teamspeak etc they could actually listen to the instructor, so if the brakin point is 150 then he could tell them 150, this also leads onto a lot of things, the instructors could simply spectate and pass notes, give them advice on where to turn in, when to hit the gas on corners, they could give tips on where they might be goin wrong on different sections of track, where they could gain a time and where they should hold back to avoid under/oversteer, im sure it could be set up if the intrest is there, there are a lot of ppl who want help and im sure there are a lot of genuine racers who wouldnt mind teachin, with a dedicated server wich is purely for newbies to learn on it could be quite a hit with new racers, again this could lead onto a points scheme, where to race on certain servers u have to of completed or be ranked high enough by the instructors to say that u are a competent racer and understand the rules, the lines etc, just a thought(insert ur own grammar i cba)
Sounds like a good idea actually. I think someone before tryed to create something like this, but i think they did'nt have the experience to keep it going (correct me if im wrong).

But yes, +1. Would be good to teach some people.
It is a nice idea for sure, a lot of work though.
Yup, may be alot of work, but im sure it would be worth it. Also, maybe they could have like a layout on autoX, which can have like areas to test braking, oversteer correction and stuff like that. Basically, some of the lessons from the game, but put onto autox
the way i see it, its a lot easier to learn from followin someone than to keep watchin replays and go out in single player, within a couple of laps of followin someone u can judge where to brake, where to hit the throttle where to turn in, with a decent instructor they can provide all that needs to be known, if they are within a few tenths of the wr's then at 5-10 seconds below that time they can show the exact lines that needs to be taken, plus take the time to see where ppl might be goin wrong, my idea was if there are say 3 instructors, 2 on track and 1 speccin, they can all give out their own advice, the faster drivers can do with one instructor the slower with another and the instructor speccin can just go over each driver and see how they are doin, give little tips here and there, the drivers who show signs of improvment can go to the other instructor and learn to go a little quicker and have more detailed instructions on where they might be goin wrong, this leads onto solvin a few problems(hopefully) like ppl goin on servers who have no racin etiqute(sp) who dive for the inside line even tho its blatanly blocked, or who cant hold off on corners and just barge their way through, it teaches the newcomers where to pass, where their strong points are on laps, just like in real life takin some risks lead to slower lap times and loss of places, whereas a carefully well thought out pass can lead to higher places without any fuss, this is where i mentioned the points scheme, could introduce an honour scheme(like aa) where to join some servers u need so much honour, wich could be given out by instructors or server admins, good behaviour and respect to players etc earns u honour, whereas bein a nob takes honour away, its an incentive to drive well and drive respectfully, obviously other drivers have their own views but this could work out well if it was executed properly(again insert ur own grammar)
I know you have put (insert own grammar) but for the love of god use some punctuation man..........
The way i see it, its a lot easier to learn from following someone than having to keep watching replays and then go out in single player and learn for yourself. Within a couple of laps of following someone, you can judge where to brake, where to hit the throttle and where to turn in. With a decent instructor, they can provide all that needs to be known. If they are within a few tenths of the wr's then at 5-10 seconds below that time they can show the exact lines that needs to be taken. Plus take the time to see where ppl might be going wrong. My idea was if there are say 3 instructors, 2 on track and 1 spectating, they can all give out their own advice.

The faster drivers can do with one highly experience instructor the slower with slightly slower yet still experienced instructor and then the instructor spectating can just watch each driver one by one and see how they are doin while giving little tips while they are driving. The drivers who show signs of improvment can go to the other instructors and learn to go a little quicker and have more detailed instructions on where they might be going wrong. This leads onto solvin a few problems (hopefully) like people going on servers who have no racin etiqute (sp) who dive for the inside line even though its blatanly blocked, or people who cant hold off on corners and just barge their way through.

It teaches the newcomers where to pass and where their strong points are on laps. Just like in real life taking risks may lead to slower lap times and loss of places, whereas a carefully well thought out pass can lead to higher places without any fuss. This is where i mentioned the points scheme. It could introduce an honour scheme (like aa) where to join certain servers, you need so much honour, which could be given out by instructors or server admins. Good behaviour and respect to players etc earns you honour. Although, if you acting like an idiot takes honour away. Its an incentive to drive well and drive respectfully. Obviously other drivers have their own views but this could work out well if it was done properly.(how did i do boss :P)
u forgot paragrahs
Hah!
It's already been suggested, and it's already happening, my friend.

Yes, there has been several "training" servers where new folks can join and learn such as you would on track days. There's even been a "racer boy drift school", which a drift team had invited the hardcore racers to join and learn to drift.

Currently, one of the US teams is running a racing school available to those in the North American area of the world.
Yea I guessed there would be but I was thinkin more of an official(sp) server. Problem with teams runnin these kind of servers is its as and when they feel like it, where as an official(ffs) server could be set to be open at certain times and have dedicated tutors. So many ppl sign up for the treatment and have time specailly allocated to them to be able to learn, so if 10 ppl sign up, work out a time where its convenient for all and get on the server, that way there is no interference of any kind.
Tutors are also server admins so once the players are in lock the server and get down to buisness, obviously no1 wants to wait around for newbies to show up so if its all pre agreed and set then its set, if theres not enough intrest one week then dont hold it, or to much intrest then split it over a few hours. Could dedicate diff countries diff tutors, that way the timezones would match.
Like I said its just an idea, im sure there are some ppl who would like this kind of thing, plus im sure there are loads of drivers who are more than capable of trainin others who would like to help, the community for lfs is amazin so why not put it to good use.
That is all up to the people/team running the training server to do correctly. It's why many have been done already and failed. The one going on now has some pretty good folks on the team and they are quite dedicated to racing LFS, and I would imagine they are quite dedicated to what they are doing with their training server. It's the way they go about things as compared to others who come up with the thought of doing this, but can't dedicate themselves to it.

I don't think the LFS developers are going to employ people to run a training server, which is the only way to do this without the dedication of the individual teams who try to accomplish it.
