V8 Supercar round at oran park
Anyone watching the race?
Its been a super eventful race with on and off rain. Right now in Round 3 Lee Holdsworth who just got his best result last round with a 4th is now winning..
I was watching it and loving it
I only saw race 1 yesterday, ,which was awesome, but when I get home r2 and 3 will be "waiting" for me

I got bored and read a book instead.
It was amazing racing with lots of shunts, offs, and lots of rain. Great racing. And congrats to Holdsworth for his win.
All 3 races were pretty good, but I hope some drivers will get a warning, because this is starting to look like the btcc more and more....
Race 3 was horrid the way they were spinning each other out.

Lowndes had unbeleavably bad luck. Well deserving winner A bit too much elbowing but mostly race incidents.

Regarding the incidents they may have to get a faster safetycar for wet races so the tyres are driveable on restarts. That or release the field for a coupple of laps with full course yellow (eh, that would lead to alot of stupid team tactics)

Or build more-suitable tracks and reduce the number of competitors.

and Reduce the entertainment factor..

It will end up like F1, over-rated(allthough i like it) and little surprises..

I believe that there's a lot more entertainment in F1 than most fans even realise, but many of them don't know dick about motor racing anyway.

In V8 Supercars I see lots of bad driving, bad stewarding decisions, and unsuitable venues. The racing is often ruined by these factors and the series always just hints at how great it could have been. I find it a big disappointment. So much muscle and talent with nowhere at all to go.

Im probably not the best to comment since i havent watched a full season since 2003..

Nail on head.

Give me more Phillip Islands, Bathursts and Eastern Creeks and less Wintons*, Oran Parks and Symmons Plains.

The V8s need more sweeping corners and less of these glorified karting tracks.

* I think it was this track that Dick Johnson described as 'like running a marathon around your clothesline'
They should also do something about the people in race control, cause right now it's filled with stupid monkey's.
I consider Oran park one of the best the best tracks in the world, as good as Bathust almost as good as Nordschleife.
Every single turn is hard, if not by itself its due to preceding turns/bumps/jumps, that sorts out the men from the boys. And its possible to pass even if its a tight twisty track (becuase its so easy to screw up the exit)
