I'm with Verizon and I've found them to be great as far as service goes, but they really lock down the phones--can't add free ringtones/wallpapers/whatever. They charge for everything.

Reliability is great, though.

Had AT&T/Cingular before Verizon and they were absolute shit.

edit: I'd use Amazon.com or letstalk.com to sign up/purchase a phone. They usually have some hot rebate deals going on. I got my last phone for -$150.

Kinda depends on the region you're in (and the amount of antennas per region, per provider)

I have AT&T (former cingular) and fairly pleased with them.

I've had no problems with Sprint... could be cheaper though?

All I have is a pay-as-you-go phone. But everyone I know has Verizon in western Pennsylvania. Not much to go on, but .

I think it just has mainly to do with the area you are in. Some will have good coverage in one area and lousy in another.

I have AT&T/cingular, and I've had no problems with service until I came down to Valdosta, where .. service is excellent EXCEPT inside the dorms.

I don't know who has best service in Massachusetts.
