Sorry England, but...
... after being the last team to beat you in good old wembley, we had to be also the first team to beat you in the new one We lost WW2, but Wembley is ours Cheerio, gimme your flames.

Oh, btw. we had to substitute 11 of the usual national players :P
I don´t like football but nice to win the first game in the new stadium

We've still beaten you more times than losing to you, including the 5-1 demolition on 1st Sept 2001

Maybe we can get the away end renamed the "Beckenbauer" stand or something?

Or the home end...

If its going by rankings, france scored a pitifal DNF, 1 sniff of hitlers tash and the white flag was waving about.
To get a DNF you first must start. They didn't even show up for qualifying

Yeah poor Germany got hammered back in the dark ages when football was virtually unheard of, but then it became popular and we've wiped the floor ever since. And whenever England beat Germany (which everyone knows is extremely rare - penalties anyone? ) they have to involve WW2 to give it some significant meaning.

You got battered by some newbies.

2-1

Waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I dunno what the hell is going on though, I mean the England team has real talented players, I envy it completely when were stuck with Barry Ferguson but I really don't know how they play like nubs, world class players surely must give them half a chance.
Quote from Bawbag :I dunno what the hell is going on though, I mean the England team has real talented players,

England produces world-class central midfielders (at least playing the English style of game), the occasional world-class centre-back, but we've never got good enough full backs (Neville excluded, when he was younger) or forwards (or at least never a decent strike partnership - who can you team Rooney up with?). We occasionally get a decent wing player (Neville, Beckham, Ashley Cole) but never enough to fill a team - usually the guys who get played outside are dedicated wing-backs or they're dual-purpose central midfielders who can't cross the ball well enough to be effective wing forwards.

Actually, given that we had Beckham, I think if Ryan Giggs had decided to play for England instead of Wales the last ten years might've been very different.

Edit: Actually I think half the reason we do so badly internationally is because our domestic game is too simple.
Hell, even Australia beat England at footo once ... but it's only fair - sometimes we let them beat us at cricket. Like once every 20 years or so.
Well to be honest that game should have been a 1-1 draw, both teams were pretty even. It was only a stupid goal keeping mistake that cost us, but then an absolute stunner to put Germany ahead, even I was clapping that one.

The problem with England is that the players care more about their club teams, since the Premiership (premier league) is that best league in the world, and we know England are not the best team in the world. Hopefully they will pull their fingers out of their over payed arses and play well for a full game, rather than half of it.
remeber no ashley cole, wayne rooney, steven gerrard, gary neville although mical richards has a superb match, and not to mention rooney is the only good striker weve got and even he is not aon form lately. just wait Germany... just wait.

As much as I love poking fun at the French, even after the government waved the flag (they didn't want Paris to get damaged because it was "too beautiful"), the soldiers refused to surrender. Even after Germany moved in the French Army (well factions of it) were still fighting the Germs.
And France where the only country to launch an offensive against Germany before 1944, anyway on the subject of football I dont know a thing, except that England would rather loose before it goes to penalties to save themselves from humiliation...

You think beckham was decent? He is the worst football player ive seen. He is as slow as shit, he has no skill, he cant take it round people, he cant track back and defend, all he can do is whip in a ball if the ball is put to his feet level with the 18 yard box.

Im a rangers guy but i agree with bawbag, ferguson is hopeless, boyd even more so. Scotland struggled to beat south africa, and apparently they were the better side throughout the full game. Scotland needs to bring up the brilliant new players that are coming into the scottish game instead of just sticking to the same outdated team. Same with england, why isnt keiran richardson in the squad? Far better than joe cole.
hey... at least we got 2nd place!

When Beckham played strictly on the right he was great in that position. Yeah he didn't often beat defenders but he would play right on the line so he was hard to dispossess without conceding a throw. He worked hard too, chasing balls down and harrassing players off the ball. And most importantly his delivery was useful.

I agree that when he was put in a central or free role he often looked inert. I'm not trying to he was Zidane or anything, but he was a top-class wing forward.
