Does any1 know what program the devs used to make lfs tracks?? ive been tryin to think where i could download it. If sum1 has a copy, i would very much appreciate if they could make a link

THANX,
ROB
Such an application has not been released.
has any1 heard of any non-official program that will do it??
Nor has such an application been released (and even if it had, do you really think this would be the place to ask for it?).
did they design their own program? with its own formats?

They have their own 3D modeler with their own file format AFAIK. That file format is not compatible with conventional 3D software like 3DSMax etc.
Jeah I remember some post by Scawen in which he mentioned some "editor updates for eric to make better stuff"

why not?? this is the perfect place to ask. an lfs programmers forum must be the best place to ask about lfs programming stuff

Im not looking for technical assistance. If I was, i'd be in the technical assistance section... I'm interested in addon programming and discussing my work (i.e., track editing/creating) with other programmers who might have or know of software to make/edit lfs tracks
No. No no no. No no no no no no.

Edit: No.
As a note; the old Papyrus games you couldn't edit tracks (or create new tracks either). However, some really dedicated folks figured out the various formats, and created their own track editor. While that was happening, others were creating new tracks for the older Papy sims and definetly a slew for GPL.

Anything is possible. However, it may need to be something that is discussed, etc. outside of these forums.

Now thats what i'm talkin bout!!! lol
I know that the devs havnt released an OFFICIAL editor/creator, but my post was to find out out if anyone knew of any UNOFFICIAL editor. Apparently there isnt, but ill leave the thread open in case someone finds/makes one.
you cant closes threads anyway

Is that your input into a programmer's forum?? and fyi yes, threads can be closed
afaik a standard forum member cannot close threads - regardless of who created it.

Also - LFS does not have a track/car editor released - official or unofficial. No ifs, buts or maybe's.

i know that I can't close threads, but if they cease to be useful, a moderator can have it closed. Anyway, thanks for the editor info, ill keep on the look out though, somebody will surely make one at some stage...

btw, great work with ltc, mark, its one of the best mods!!!

Why thank you
If I remember correctly (unlikely ha!), there are files that determine how the track is created. In other words, Aston has a bunch of different tracks, but its all pulled from one "world", and the files only tell the layout of the track. There ARE track combinations that havn't been released yet. So... it might be possible to create a file that draws up the missing combinations for South City, Kyoto, Aston, and Fern Bay. Possibly anyways.

so...if i understand correctly, it is hypothetically possible to piece together different parts of one "area" (eg fernbay, aston etc)?

Couldnt have put it better myself.

There are no official or unofficial apps to edit or create new tracks in LFS. Discussion of attempting to do so is not something that should be done here please.

Additionally. if you were to create a new or edit an origional track. you would not be allowed to distribute it on these forums and likely not be able to use it online.
