I noticed the same thing, actually. Becky says its part of the "CTRA Special Needs" system :P
Stuart Whitehead, from England, has competed in 640 races and driven 13,307 laps since the launch of the CTRA X-System. In this time, Stuart has caused 1,325 yellow flags, which is a ratio of 9%. This is a really commendable yellow flag ratio, typical of only the best racers to be found on the CTRA.

Stuart has won 221 races and reached the podium, in second or third place, a further 198 times in 640 races, while failing to finish a total of 101 times. This means Stuart has completed a comfortable 84% of the races in which he's participated. During those races, Stuart has achieved an extraordinary 199 fastest laps.

hmm you have done 640 races? amazing

That's just 640 races since we started counting..

I've just changed the way the driver of the moment is selected. It was actually possible for some people to be randomly selected more often than others, but it should even out now

I've also adjusted the selection process so that anyone with a Bronze or above licence (was silver) in the CTRA is a candidate for the front page - provided they have a first and last name entered, have uploaded a photo, and have also participated on SS and BnJ servers.

The load on the server would probably be much lighter if it was possible to enter a lfs player name to see this info about him/her.

It would be cool also if the same info was displayed on your "myCTRA" page instead of "You have competed in: n races and driven n' laps on the CTRA system.".

Yep, I'm beginning to develop the licence lookup page, though I'm about to slow up a little on the CTRA stuff and do some paid work for a week or two, to get some cash in the bank so I can carry on developing the CTRA for the next few months

I devised the Driver Of The Moment specifically as verbose conversational text. It's the front-page for the CTRA, and content for that page is not really targetted solely at LFSers. It's directed more at non-CTRA and non-LFS visitors, to give an idea of what the CTRA is, what it does (and why they should throw their sponsorship at us ).

Ah ha!!! That is why both my F5 key, Control and R keys, and my mouse button for manually hitting refresh is broke. It was getting to be a pain to hit Alt, move to View, then scroll with the arrow keys down to refresh. I neither have a photo, nor raced on SS.

ROFL!! Sorry Mike!!

Did you not notice that every F5 brought forth another photo?

I think everybody and his dog is hitting F5 on that page.. it's getting about 16,000 hits a day!! LOL
If anybody comes up with me, can they post it up for me? Please?
why is having done a race on BnJ a requirement? I am never going to race there, it is only distantly related to car racing. I had no fun racing there in beta testing times either.

Excluding racers who take part in "real" racing only is discrimination!

hehe! I decided to do that because, even though the thing is very random, it's a kind of "featured driver" slot on the main page, and I wanted to make sure that the people who featured there had at least tried everything that the CTRA has to offer
thats a picture of when Sam was a teenager. You should see him now!!!

No need to rub it in. Geez, subtle as a brick
