Realistic server with cops and money
Hello,

I play alot in the server [TC] City Driving Jamaica, and now i want to created also a city driving server, like jamaica, but is that a script what they use, or a mod. Or created that script by them self?
Please let me know if i can download a script/mod with money and COP tags etc.

Its a custom made InSim Application
You will have to make it yourself, its all custome done by talented people, the 3 biggest servers all have their own script system (CLC, LTC, TC)

I'm sorry, but was it "brad or whip or CHUCK" 's idea in the first place?
Does it really matter who's idea it is?

In my honest opinion if someone cannot code for themselves then they should not run a server, especially a "Cruise" server.

At the end of the day, you will have to maintain the InSim application, create/add/edit features of the game.

I really think that there needs to be less "omg i want a cruise insim application" threads in here. If you cannot make an application you obviously don't have the knowledge required.

Can we sticky replies?

But seriously, I come to this forum section to read about programming stuff and to check out source code. I don't come here to read about someone who doesn't even know what insim is, and is requesting cruise or drift "insims" (....).

The guy just requested a mod that he liked. Where's the harm in that?

Being naive is not the same as being stupid.
Maybe an admin could be so kind as to create a "InSim programming requests" subforum and just move those threads there. Maybe after seeing a bunch of "moved" threads, people will not post here. Maybe just wishful thinking

I agree, i don't think there is anything wrong with requesting a mod, and generally people have been a bit overly abusive to those who ask. However, it would be nice if there was a place for those requests, because it's kind getting busy with requests around here lately, with not a whole lot of people with the time or interest to field the requests.

Asking for help, and asking for something to be written are 2 very different requests. I think that's the problem here. If someone askes for help any number of people can answer. Asking for something to be written may require a significant amount of personal time to acheive what they want. There is also the issue of "I want a clone of X", without any details.

I was stupid enough to offer to write something for mcgas001, unfortunately I do not have enough time right now to do this. Now this isn't anyone else's fault except my own, and I know this goes for a number of other people who frequent the subforum. This itself leads to somewhat ill feeling I suspect. The reason why I've brought this up is that some of us like to help people and the barriage of very similar requests has somewhat coerced myself into making this offer. By not being able to see these requests I personally might actually not make this mistake again. On the original RSC forum this was the case, as it was mandated that addon requests went into the addon subforum. In short there was a lot less shitty comments and behaviour, and that those with time to produce stuff actually did it.

You'll also find that the people who are after something being written for them have no experience in running a [successful] server correctly, without any concept of what the infrastructure behind needs to be, or the potential cost. In short, anything written for that person would likely be a waste.

The OP has asked if there is a script he can use or a mod he can download. He hasn't asked anybody to write anything for him. Furthermore, if he asked for something to be written you could probably deduce that he does not understand the time and effort involved. That's no reason to treat him like this. It was a simple request based on his experience and knowledge of such things.

In this instance yes. In other instances, no.

I'll admit that the behaviour was somewhat uncalled for this time, but I maintain the irritation that can be caused through some of the requests for help recently.
