i´d like to see the restart-vote-option beeind disabled, too. but
i must say, like moose and and obsolum, i´ve never ever seen
this on a ctra-server and i race mostly on race 2.

so we have one person from race 1, one from ss and me from race2.

where has this happend, when and who did it?

i had situation on ss1 when its not very populated, that the 3-7 racer which are on decide to restart the race afte regular race end before the x-system restarts it. but a restart after race start i didn't see the last weeks, just in the beginning there were some 'beginner'-guys which tried to restart after the big T1 crashing

It happened some times on the SS server when i was onliney.often when there was high wind on. Would like to see that option removed, too. But dont think thats possible!?

I hate restarts, it's totaly unfair.
Why a restart when a race is 10 minutes long?
Just go to the toilet, get something to drink, whatever.
Because you had a crash in T1 doesn't make it right to restart the race and take out everybody who is still driving.
It happens way to often when 2 or 3 cars crash they ask for a restart, then everyone who had a bad start follows.
But I must say, I have never seen it happen on the CTRA ss server.
That's why I like driving there so much

Take out the restart option. It is annoying when people who had a bad start or crash in T1 want a restart. Wich also means they cant restart after a race. Dont see that is necesarry because X sytem controls it. The time between races is good enough and shouldnt be manual override by racers.

That is time for a little chat and sharing setups. I must admit i bearly see any restarts anymore afetr the race started, when it happens it is a racers who is new to CTRA.

@high wind is already a debat on a other thread but I agree on some tracks it seems there is a hurricane on the loose trying too wipe you out. I like the wind option in CTRA because it makes it more realistic but when a hurricane is on the loose I doubt it if in real life there will be any races starting.

I'm not getting the impression that constant restarting is an issue on CTRA. We've a long restart prevention delay at the beginning of the race, and people who pit and can't rejoin the track aren't entitled to initiate a vote.. we've devised the system specifically to address the problem, and I think we did a good job.

I don't think that the obsession with T1 bomb/pit/restart that seems ever-present in other servers has spread into the new CTRA system. With a bit of luck the attitude towards racing, that CTRA drivers have, will permeate through to other servers and the T1 bomb will soon be a thing of the past.

Apart from richy, the person introducing the subject for discussion (who didn't explicitly identify it as an issue on the CTRA), the only person who's claiming that there is a problem with restarts on the CTRA is sinanju, and he's never even joined one of the CTRA servers.

I think things on the CTRA regarding this particular aspect of racing are good right now.

I raced a bit on one of the Redline servers recently whilst the CTRA servers were down and was soon reminded why i ditched the FOX in the first place everyone taking each other out in T1, blue flag messages being spammed and only about 5 finishers, winning was easy but there was no actual close clean racing at all and it wasn't an enjoyable experience. The CTRA really seems to have been able to up the quality of racing

Nah I didn't mean it was a big issue, or a problem with the ctra at all hehe. a good deal of people accept their race is over, and let those who are still in it carry on their race, and get their points reward. there is far less restarts on ctra than anywhere else. Thats kind of the reason why I thought about removing the restarts completely, since it doesnt happen often, and the odd times it does happen someone who did everything right and didnt crash would lose out on points / stats.

At the moment it is wise to keep the restart feature as I've noticed that when the X-system is restarted for whatever reason you often need to manually restart to get the race started.

yeah this is a good point, when the system is down, its good to have restarts.
