Quote from kurent :No name, no game would be my comment for this thread.

btw, [d9] runs the best demo server. Alot of licenced racers go there for a close XRT@BL1 racing. Still not sure if he want's to tell us something with the server name "pink", but emmm...yeah.

what's the name of that server, if you don't mind sharing?

also, I was on a demo server (duh!) yesterday and an unnamed user got banned pretty much right after joining. I should say that in my experience, almost all unnamed racers were either crashers or really slow drivers with no idea about blue flags...which often makes them crashers anyway. I should also say that the server that I was on had a really nice skilled crowd at that time and the last thing we wanted is somebody wrecking the race.
Ah yes, ban straight away! Guilty until proven innocent where there is no way to prove innocent once ban stricken.

Sure, crashers use "unnamed", but you think that maybe, just maybe, that "unnamed" is just a first time user and didn't put a name in yet? Maybe, just maybe, that new user who is "really slow drivers with no idea about blue flags..." just might have the slight mental ability to listen and learn from someone helping them out online so that they are not slow and understand the blue flag? Or maybe, just maybe that "unnamed" is only new to LFS, but has been sim racing for years and years with other sims? Quite possibly, that "unnamed" will come on the server and own everyone there?

Immediate bans upon someone entering a server for anything is ludicrous.
its not hard to give yourself a name, if you like the game, the least yo could do is make yourself identifiable to other players.
I'll make an experiment... I'm going to get into servers with no name and see how fast they ban me.
the reason demo servers ban unnamed people is because they are typically the crashers.
i usually give them a chance then if they dont reply at all, i kick
what else can you expect on demo servers....
Why do you want unnameds on the server when there´s a 95%chance that they ruin the race in turn one? what is so mad about forcing them to join a server where people are not that busy racing? Are unnameds unable to play LFS just because they´re banned for 12hours from a few servers where people managed to take ... preventive action (hope you can say so in english)? There are still lots of other servers, so why should they quit playing LFS in general.. just because they can´t join 1, 2 or maybe just a few more other servers for the next 12 hours?

Ok, they might have downloaded LFS 10 minutes ago, and don´t even know that T opens the chat window. but hey, one day they WILL have to chat to others, either on forum or ingame. and if hey DONT want to deal with what´s going on around them like in the chat or on track they could as well have a look at the game in single player mode. My suggestion: ReadTheF***ingManual

P.S. I know i was banned during my first days in LFS as well, but i´m still alive, and i don´t even remember any more what i´ve done - maybe i didnt even realise that i was banned
