Anything pre-80s that had a model come out during the 80s

It's fugly inside too.

This is also obscenely ugly (the new one). Doesn't know whether it's a people carrier or van and therefore comes across as schizophrenic crap:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_C8

The new ones of both cars look better than the old though. That Citroën is just boxy, nothing special about it, wouldn't say it's super ugly. And I'm quite sure it's a people carrier, never seen it in another form at least. The van version has a different name and looks a bit different. The new Fiat Multipla looks a bit more normal:
For me its the on going destruction of the Subaru Impreza, the last great one was the P1, the next one is going to be a family hatchback
Yeah the subaru lost its nice car shape and changed into some over CADed jigsaw puzzle.
Quote from theirishnoob :why not ?? even to prove the lack of class after the e30 models , compare the prices of a 325 in both e30 & e36 with same spec and mileage... the e30 is more expensive

but i have to agree on the escourt point cause some cars make box styles look cool ( e.g toyotas's corolla, pug 205, vovlo estates ) but by god i dont think ford could have done worse... oh wait.. look at pictures of their new focus/mondeo range

maybe that is because the E30 are rarer nowadays because the years of mother nature and dick's that drive them have worn them away. Give it another 5-10 years and the E36 will be in the exactly same position.

Anything that has that worn piece of soap looks, everything smooth and rounded without real shape, like this one for example.

Silly big grille fashion is really ugly too, imo.

When parked car looks like it would roar and accelerate away anytime, then it is nice looking, difference can be really subtle, Countach is beast, Diablo is ladies purse.

I have wondered many times why many modern cars do look so vague, but I can only make conclusion that it is because those are nowdays unisex models, there can't be such elements that turns away certain customers, or so car makers do think.

Modern Mustang is refreshing exception.
Quote from DeKo :the new clio is horrible looking, its like they tried to shrink the megane. The megane is a good looking car, the new clio not so much.

and also, the newer mustangs coming out just look far too... bland to me. The old classic mustangs just looked so raw and racy and stuff, the new ones just look.. meh

From that to

everyone knows the mustang died in 1867 and was brought back from the dead in 2000 with the new model ( which go's like crap but looks rather nice... )

maybe so but its that ultra rare evo e30s which make that car so expensive... ( all the actual bmw after market bumpers are evo m tecs so it makes finding a good one even more difficult )

but haven said that id rather pay 18-25000 for a 1987-1991 True euro muscle road car then a diluted new bmw with tration control and as 3000 set of alloys :nods: after all... even without abs.. the e30 holds its own against most new , same spec cars today

another car i noticed ( and it has been said ) is the civic.. i loved the early 80's boxy shape because it was soooo ugly it was nice looking.. the new model looks like its been made by kia in a ford factory not to mention you cant change gear without putting your face through the windscreen
Personally this is my favourite mustang.

Well about the mustang, they kept them going all the way upto present.

Here's a pretty weak version of the 1979 mustang.

so ben, as you can see, it never died in 1967, this was actually a couple of years after it started production.

And about driving the new civic and going through the windscreen with every gear change? That must be your terrible driving, or whoever was driving at the time
Quote from JTbo :Silly big grille fashion is really ugly too, imo.

The big grill fashion in most cars isn't an option, it's necessary.
Eg: the new peugeots have pretty big grilles, and some new fords too. Why? Because they both have PSA build engines, those engines really don't suck... Seriously, they DON'T suck air That's why they need such big grills.

And this is my favourite Mustang, hard top version (notch?) is nice too. I don't really like the fastback ones.
I thought the massive grills on cars these days was to give them higher crumple zones because of the seemingly endless supply of SUVs on the road now. That's what I always associated it with anyway.

no , as always i speek in imo format so well its common knollenge that the mustang died in the 60's cause they ruined the muscle dezign... the 1970s seem to be the 1950's all over again and the 80s's gave nothing good out of america

what a petty the only cars actually still made in america are toyotas ( to the best of my recollection )

also civics are lumps of poo , my boss's wife has one and jeez when changing gear , you really need a 4 point racing harness
my grandad has just bought a MK7 Ford Fiesta Style 1.25 5dr to replace his MK3 Ford Fiesta Flight 1.3 5dr
Even though the Mk3 has the old engine style and the Mk7 has the Zetec/Duratec, I'd be willing to bet the Mk3 is a better car as well as quicker simply because the Mk7 is so heavy.
Quote from theirishnoob :also civics are lumps of poo , my boss's wife has one and jeez when changing gear , you really need a 4 point racing harness

either you are over exagerating alot, or the person who is driving is crap at changing gear smoothly. One of my dads car's is a 2000 honda accord type-r, and that car is'nt made for soaking up miles, and yet whenever he changes gear, its nice and smooth. And i have been in the new civic type-r (brother purchased one about 2 weeks ago) and again, whenever changing gear, its nice and smooth. So something is wrong here....the driver or you over exagerating.

Also, stop speaking in "imo" format, you make yourself look like a twat.
