I agree on avatars, I don't on sigs. If having only text makes a thread boring, then it's something wrong with the contents of that thread - no signature can fix that.

For what it counts, my opinion:

+1 to forcing size 1 text
+1 to removal of quotes in signature
+1 to removal of LARGE similes in signature (but ones like or are fine)
+1 to not counting tags in the character limit, thus removing the need for a higher character limit

Seeing as my idea gets ripped to shreds and then random off-topic Sam-bashing crap appears, i'll give this a "+1"

IMO, 72 x 4 is a perfect size for .sigs, and _all_ images should be disallowed, quotes too as they're pointless and cumbersome.

Thankfully, the likes of those shitty userbars are easily blocked in firefox with adblock

i think that there should be more characters allowed so you can do type art ( words made using dots , / and such ) its the next best thing if you not allowed img's

not counting bb code in the cumber of chars might be a good idea but there would need to be some system to limit the amount of userbars ... probably in relation to the amount of text surrounding them
