So Harjun...you now have Quad Core?

Can I have a few branches of you money tree?

These people know what they are talking about and they know that what you are talking about is utter shite.

Honesty is the key.

Great comment on the super glue!
Quote from Jakg :Why the f*ck do i bother.

I really don't have a clue tbh. You're completely wasting your time now.

Superglue:banghead: I ask you. Whatever next?

I hear porridge is a good substitute for thermal paste though, he could give that a go. It's has to be of a really thick consistency and must be applied whilst still hot.

PCworld didn't have my brake pads btw. They called security and escorted me from the shop when i asked.

Failing that I've heard you can get great results with Blu-Tack..
So Harjun, which nice fellow is just going to give you $1400 (roughly £750) to buy your new PC

but....like, are you SURE that would work

And by the way...i havent ordered it....but i am sure i am getting something, my dad said cause ive been good for the past year and got no trouble in school! .... or on the other hand i could get a go kart my dad said and start go karting....but i would prefer a G25....or that computer....i have a choice really, G25, Custom pc, Go kart

I would love the PC though!
Whats that I can smell?

Your dad really needs his head checking to spend atleast £700 on you because you didn't get in trouble for a whole year. I have never been in big trouble, yet I have bought almost everything with my own money.

Good luck getting a decent kart for £700.

Sell your laptop, build a budget PC (ie E6750, 8600) and save the rest for when you ACTUALLY need it.
Quote from harjun : G25, Custom pc, Go kart

Take the Go Kart. your not cut out for PC's, and real racing is 100x the fun of gaming.
Go to an automotive parts shop, and buy some copper shim material. Copper is an excellent conductor of heat. Cut it (using safety scissors) to size and use that instead of paste - tidier.

Don't worry about swarf and filings, as they burn up as soon as turn on the power - fail safe. Probably a couple of degrees cooler than paste too

Will that work in conjunction with the Blu-Tac and porridge?

Just got open the tube and spread it all over the insides of your computer.

The whole thing will cool down a lot!
This is total classic.

harjun - artic silver (or any other thermal paste) is easy to apply, squeeze a little from the tube and spread it as thinly and evenly as possible, use the edge of a credit card or similar. Once covered, remount the heatsink. Note if the heatsink base doesn't have a mirror finish, it can be worthwhile rubbing in a small amount of the paste into the base of the heatsink, the wiping off the excess. This should fill in any microscopic air holes for a better seal.

Edit: slow
Thanks you Mr. Bob Smith, and thanks Jakg....so is that stuff better than the old stuff....if it is, load temps should be sometimes below 50.... ooh, this will be good
Quote from Tweaker :Then reapply a small portion in the very middle and re-mount the heatsink. You only need a little bit, and the grease will spread when you re-mount the heatsink, AND the grease will spread when heat dissipates after a week or two of normal use. I am sure we all learned how glue spreads underneath paper when we were kids, yes?

uh no doesnt quite work that way

Quote from Jakg :http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arctic-S ... ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

id rather advise someone whos ...... like him to buy zalman or any other more fuild grease ... with as you have to have a bit of a clue on what youre doing

(i especially love the bit where they go on about how good the toothpaste smells at above 50°C)
If Harjun is telling the truth about his parents, then...

Harjun, tell your parents to read this: You, are all idiots.

You sound like the ultimate spoilt brat Harjun.

I actually sometimes think Harjun's license is just some nutter trying to be funny, like its all a big joke.

And you Jakg, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?? STOP WASTING YOUR TIME WITH HIM!!

Edit: As this post is relatively useless, if you want some advice, throw the laptop out of the window and get a proper damn life.

So..does that little chart at the bottom actually say that the temp was lower using Colgate rather than thermal compound?

I think Harjun's wasting his(parents)money on Arctic Silver

And where can i get some of that curry ketchup? that looks bloody great! (for food, not my computer:razz
