I have fixed the problem now for some strange reason setting my pc to a static ip was causing the problem that means i wont be able to use a static ip address now
edit:

nevermind - just seen you've fixed it.

I will look through my router settings and see if there is any new software updates for it because the laptop and my desktop have both been running fine using static ip addresses until today.

So is your router connected? If so, it's probably a DNS issue.

I was thinking sort of along the same line i know someone hasn't got into my router settings because first they need to get through the WPA-PSK Encription and find out the password to get into the settings on the router it has been fine until today i have been using the router i have now for 8 months and no problems only if my linksy gaming router was still working i could of seen if it is the router proberly is i think ill have to wait to get the problem sorted before using a static ip lol
Who is your isp? I'm on Sky, keep losing connection and couldn't read my e-mail yesterday.
Telewest (Virgin Media)
Hmmmmm, not connected in any way, are they?
Nope sky is sky and telewest(virgin media) is telewest(virgin media) lol
These 2 companies are rivels so i should hope not that they are connected
