Quote from JamesF1 :You'd be surprised what you can do with an unladen 747 - they're quite agile as far as heavies go. Most of that is not that far from believable - what makes it seem so far from reality is that you don't think of a fully-laden passenger jet doing anything but making gentle turns and slow climbs... but that's purely for passenger comfort. Simply removing all the luggage and passengers from a full 747-400 will almost halve it's weight. That gives you some impressive maneuverability for something of that size

I wasn't talking so much about the 747, I've done plenty of craziness in an unladen 747. They are quite maneuverable. I was more talking about the ultralight, there's no way that little ultralight can keep up with a 747, even when the 747 is unloaded, at full flaps, and at stall speed. I'm not quite sure how the F-14 was flying that slow with the wings back in supersonic position either.

Still a spectacular video though.
Quote from JamesF1 :That wasn't Concorde... it was an XB-70 Valkyrie and yes... they were in-game sounds

Ok, just wondering why did that sound quite nice (short example though) if race sims can't get car fly-by sound anything like the real one (not even mentioning F1).

A plane flyby is simple compared to a car one, all aero engines run at constant revs so you can get away with a lot more in the way of pre-sampled sounds.

Yes, you got a point. I also meant the overall "roughness" of the sound, like in the video at 4:30. I'd say pretty impressive. In race sims car fly by sounds totally weird and mostly not even like car, especially F1 cars (BF1 in LFS being the worst example ). Of course air is easier element to create realistic external sound than race track is with lots of surroundings etc.

Revs vary in a plane as well, what should be the difference to cars?

Just checked to see if my comp would run it using this webby http://www.systemrequirementslab.com

And my comp goes over teh recommended :S

i thought this was a game that needed alot to run it

In a plane you set throttle, so should maintain the same revs until you reset the throttle, so the engine speed is pretty much constant. You only really continually adjust the throttle during aerobatics/extreme maneuvers and (only in some aircraft) during landing.

Think of it this way, is it easier to do a drive by of a car driving past at a steady 3000rpm in top (ie. down the motorway) or accelerating hard, changing both engine speed and gear?

Here's the page with all three episodes (well..2 1/2 )
Be sure to get the versions with subs. (unless you speak French of course:razz
Awesome vid. I don't care if it's racing or flight sim, I love watching the vids.

Simtube, the youtube of the flight sim community. Lots of good vids here.

One of my personal favorites: Mandy
Brilliant!
