Sky News is now saying that Police believe he was on board...again, NOT official.

I believe it is best just sit and wait until they release more details at Sunday as it says on BBC page, avoiding to make quick conclusions is better, imo.
But thats Sky News buddy. Can I smell something?
Still hoping he's alive but The Times don;t think so. First Richard Burns then this. Terrible. And his son.
Very sad
I think if Colin was not on board, we would have heard by now. Sadly it looks like mototrsport has lost a real competitor who give it 110% all the time, even if his car could'nt.

My heart has to go out to the rest of the family, I have been lucky enough to meet Jimmy McRae on a number of occasions, and a better person I have yet to meet.
I was out at the cinema tonight and got a text from a mate who lives in Lanark. I couldn't believe it that McRae is gone.

Very sad. This guy inspired so many people and did a lot for the popularity of his sport.

Peace to McRae.
This is a disaster. I worshipped the guy, both his driving and also the way he went about living life. That his son is gone too is incomprehensible.

A real tragedy.
Quote from BlueFlame :I only know of Richard Burns

More people die from brain cancer than from helicopter crashs...

RIP Colin
What a bad year for rally

RIP McRae. I loved his driving during my years of watching rally
Quote from zorrofox :both his driving and also the way he went about living life.

I think that's the key to why he is so loved. Most great drivers take the car to its limit, but McRae took the car beyond that. He would take the car to its limit and then push it further. Sometimes it would result in glory, sometimes it would end in disaster. He was without doubt one of the most fearless men who ever sat behind the wheel of a world rally car. He was an absolute legend. RIP.

Quote from srdsprinter : Small aircraft and racecar drivers have a bad history... RIP Colin

Small aircraft and motorsports in general have a bad history. (remember the Hendrick crash?)
Will be seeing many sad and unforgettable tribute videos being posted now, it's so damn sad that we lose so many great people, Michael Park, Richard Burns and now Colin McRae.

I remember a story which pretty much sums up all of these great guys, after a rally somewhere in England in the mid 90's some of the rally drivers were signing autographs at a pub, Richard Burns and his co driver were there. They were so popular that they had run out of paper and when one young boy asked Richard for his autograph he took his t shirt off and scribbled his name on the back. I know Colin and Michael were both very much the same, so why these men are being taken from us this early is unfair and the only good thing is knowing that these great guys will be together.

39 is way to young an age to die, but words can't even describe how young 5 is.

RIP, you will be sorely missed.
Oh my God i cant belive it.

Rest in Peace

Edit: Btw i think Small aircraft and sporting heros have a bad history not just motor sport drivers
Now Wiki has confirmed it.

Nothing from the BBC yet.
My god i hope it isn't true.

just heard it on BBC news and came on here to read more, they said nothing had been confirmed yet.
