GT2 Values Finalized
FXO GTR - 25%
XR GTR - 25%
FZ 50 GTR - 20%

The FZR balance may be off a little, but theres nothing I can do about it if people don't show for testing. FXR and XRR are pretty much neck and neck.

Going to be an interesting season
Sorry I didn't come back to the testing session after I disconnected. The cable went completely out, both tv and internet, and we spent a few hours on the phone with Comcast trying to correct it. :P

Indeed, again there were no ppl to race, tbh i left also early, i didnt expect they would race with 5 guys, so i was afk for 10 mins, when i came back the race had started... But after 1 hour you couldnt speak of a race anymore...

I cant understand it.

We got around 30 teams, with atleast 90 drivers, it seems no one takes it serious or something??? Every week i see the same dedicated folks on the server, mostly the mercury and ZWRacing, or the nfaculty guys... Thats it...

I mean come on, 90 guys, 10 to 15 guys showing up should be no problem but, this is a bit ridicules.

Ahh well atleast i aint driving a FZR luckily, i wonder how long it takes till you guys receive complaints because its too slow maybe...

Sorry guys we had enough balancing tests, deal with it...
Though the problem was that yesterdays race was announced a bit late (the same day).

But I agree that it should be easier to get a decent grid to test the specs... and it was not like we are not going to have a race on that track during the season

I think XRR and FXR are pretty equal, sadly we had no FZR.

Also left after an hour of lonely driving although the first 15 mins were quite nice driving against the XRRs.
Until you have the final applications confirmed and who you relegate to drive a GT2 you cannot expect drivers hopping in to drive a car they don't want/have to.

There are 5 GT2 teams shown on the latest application list, all the rest is GT1, why should the GT1 teams test a GT2 car if they don't plan to drive it?

Finalise the applications, say who has to drive a GT2 if they want to take part in the MOE and do another test race, you should see more drivers that way in my opinion.
First of all, nobody's being "relegated" and nobody "has" to drive a gt2. Nobody was guaranteed a GT1 spot in the first place, you can't relegate someone who was never up front to begin with. It's an Invitational series., as has been said many times.

Application not accepted for GT1? Didn't aply for GT2? Nobody's going to force you to drive a GT2 car.

As for the announcement of the session, It was announced in last weeks test race thread. And much like last week, only 4 teams showed up.

There were 5 gt2 entries on the last PUBLIC list

ok, I guess you did not get my points and are arguing about how I formulated some phrases I used, sorry if that caused a misunderstanding.

As I see it, most of the teams in LFS would like to drive in the MOE, preferably in the GT1 class, if that is not possible they will likely agree to drive in the GT2 class, if you propose that chance to them.

I think you can agree with that thought, can't you? This is all based on the list that was public of course, as which other could I be talking about?

It also depends on which teams you invite, but my assumption was already based on a theoretic number of those teams that would get invited, but they would have no place in the GT1, therefore they would be proposed the chance to drive a GT2 car. As probably there are going to be some of those teams due to the high number of applicants and limited slots available, right?
You did mention offering GT2 slots to GT1 applicants who you would accept, but there were just not enough slots left, did you? Or did I misread one of the posts here?

You can allways think it was better to do things different then we actually did. Let's look forward instead.

I think the reductions are pretty good balanced over the three cars. Let's run this year with this restriction. If there is some major flaws we can change it for the last races after new year and let the teams change car if they want to.
I think its rather unfair to complain about the lack of people making an appearance to what is effectively a last minute announcement that you plan on holding a testing session, you gave something like 4 hours notice for something you consider as being important and yet the fact that its taking place is either an extremely late announcement or a last minute decision to do one because it doesnt look like it was planned in advance.

Proper advanced warning would be a big help, and almost certainly the best way of making these sessions more successful must surely be by contacting the people who wish to take part, if your doing a GT2 test session then contact those people and let them know, leaving a message ~4hrs beforehand and complaining about lack of interest is quite insulting IMO, 4 DAYS and hardly anyone bothers i can understand, but if theres no proper notice then theres probably not going to be proper numbers.

As the saying goes, help us help you!!

Szabo:
I got what you meant, but implying any 'forcing' of people into GT2 touches on nerves it seems, i guess it is inaccurate but i didnt see anything particularly wrong in your wording but i suppose they have to clarify for others as much as anything that any moving would be of the teams choice, not forced upon them.
I *think* the last announced number of GT2 cars was 8, but the details of those ~8 werent made public for some reason, personally i dont think any of the team specifics (ie car) should have been made public until the final teams were announced, but i dont know why the final application list wasnt made public if only for the same reason it was made public to begin with (so everyone knew their app had been received).
If i may, input, my view.... i think that these values, came a little too late... the 1st race is 2 weeks away, we STILL dont know which teams are invited for what class, and.. it just seems like, everything is standing still instead of being prepared. Lets be honest, the admin team had the better part of half year to determine the class balancing, multi class, invitations etc etc.... and now your spreading this within the last 2 weeks... this just seems to me a lack of responsibility... im sorry if im upsetting or disappointing anyone, but this just is getting frustrating... we cant arrange setups since we dont know the exact power settings, we cant practice, because we dont know if were invited or not... most of us have daily jobs or activities, and time is very precious. I really dont understand the admin team, for being soo late.

Just my 2 cents, once again hope i didnt upset anyone.
Restrictions are mentioned above. Invitations will come tonight. And the admin team, other than the years before, has a working live to manage besides being admins.

Oh, I dunno... a spirit of community and generally being helpful to the league you want to see succeed?
Quote from KeiichiRX7 :Ran the test session with a very small turnout.

Pretty pleased with the results and have made one small change to the restriction levels, that could still be changed again before the green flag drops at Kyoto.

FXR and XRR 25%

FZR 20%

Was actually quite pleased with how closely balanced all 3 cars were going into this session, coming out the FZR needs a bit of work and more drivers available to put it through it's paces. Thanks to Mercury Racing Team, Orange Racing Team, Triple Seven Racing, and Zwarte Wind Racing for thier time and effort.

Next week we will test at South City Long.

Same Bat Time, Same Bat Station.

that was posted last week in last weeks test thread, for those that were paying attention. As for ths short notice: Sick in bed all of monday, the rest of the week was sent either in the office of a new employer or at with with my current employer, with a smattering of 6 hours of sleep. that's 10am tuesday morning through 12pm saturday night. As phil said, I've got a life aside this too, which has to take priority.

Razvan: Better part of half a year? "How about since X came out". The test sessions were there, I only saw you (pro-drive) in attendance to one of them.

Nobody said that the only cars that could be driven were GT2. It was an opportunity for all teams to not only assist in the balancing process, but assess the challenge presented by the course. Your loss.

Also, read the title of this thread, you know wha the powersettings are, nothing is stopping your preparations.
looking at the final application list for the gt2 class... who cares about the fzr.... (bit sad though)
Well, there's still room.
