OT: PLEASE fix your sig - if you can't spell his name then your sig just becomes offensive. It's Colin McRae, not Collin, not Coling, not McRea, not MacRay. Just Colin McRae.

Your system isn't all that great really. Not awful, but not bad. Just leave it as it is and it'll play most games on decent settings for a year or two.

That's fine, although i'd ditch the "superclocked" for the standard 320 mb, get a better monitor, ditch the Neons. Get a better PSU and use the stock CPU fan.
ok...ill go with the advice, may you kindly recommend me a good monitor?, and i wish to stick with the current cpu fan....and i have upgraded the graphics card to the 640mb version of the 8800GTS

and as for the neons, that was just a 2 pound laugh

which psu should i get aswell?

Well you've got a really nasty PSU, and yet for someone who doesn't plan on overclocking the CPU fan is pointless.

The money you save buying a 320 MB lets you get a better quality monitor.

as i said....ive decided on the 640mb...it will increase fps loads...i hope for fps always above 100...no matter what, will that probably be the case?...and i will overclock the cpu only to 2.4ghz, its my lucky number

which monitor and psu should i get then?
#8 - Jakg
Erm, the 640 mb will not "increase your FPS loads". TBH i MUCH prefer the 640, but you'd need a bigger monitor to see ANY improvement.

And your FPS won't always be over 100 if you actually use your GPU's power

And please do NOT overclock.

just thought i would fix that bit for ya

Without being a computer genius i can tell you that your system will be limited by the CPU, on LFS especially.
thank you very much, which one do you suggest...a pentium d? or should i cut down on the vga...and get a Q6600 or maybe a e6600?
harjuns chasis
get this as a chasis and tell the guy who is building it to never give you the combination
#13 - Jakg
Your CPU is fine, although i'd get the 320 MB version of the card and a better PSU because the one you've got probably won't be man enough...

ok, thank you very much, so i will get the 320mb one, and any psu suggestions or monitors from ebuyer please jack?
Hi Harjun, just some quick CPU advice.

You don't really need the Arctic pro to be honest, It would help your cooling but the Intel cooler's are just fine if your not overclocking. So I suggest not getting that, also the CPU you picked is...Ok.

I really suggest getting something like an E4400 or an E6750/E6600. You will get far better performance than the E21xx series.

As JakG said, the 640mb is a bit of a waste, just take the 320.

Also, on my build i've taken quite a bit of the "budget" branded stuff from OCuk, I wish I hadn't now. "Budget" is really what you get - my power supply is real bad, that was budget. The Budget ram I got had to be sent back for a refund, also the budget Ati X1950.

Just try to get a decent branded list of products, If I had to choose between reliability and speed, it would definatly be reliability.

As for your monitor/PSU, how about these two:

Monitor:

PSU:

or
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/126827
or
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/112899
thank you sir, but im going with my dual core
Intel Stock coolers SUCK! ... trust me... i have had a bad experience

My Stock CPU Fan+Heatsink doesnt really work that well...why? because they use cooling pads.. which.. ok.. do work.. but i will always add some thermal paste just be sure.... and hey presto.. was slightly better...

yet another stupid signiture harjun.....way to go....
Quote from dadge :yet another stupid signiture harjun.....way to go....

Someone has a somewhat racist view, not sophisticated and you may as well get over it and not post it on a public forum. Funnily enough I'm fairly amazed you aren't white, based solely on my racial pre-judgements. Actually having said that I do know someone who hacks into the US government computers, he's more full of bullshit than you (and not white)
imo, it's a non-naming and shaming way of naming and shaming. racists are bullies and bullies should be ignored.
That sig is only going to cause trouble, I don’t know what it's supposed to achieve

EDIT: At least you have a tiny bit of common sense to change it.
sorry was just annoyed, please dont get this thread locked, i really want to see views of my new computer...ive gone for the 360mb version, and the new psu jakg suggested, i really like my monitor ive chosen though, you can wall mount it
you like a "lesser" monitor because it has 3 more hole in it at the back??? oooooohhhhhhh kkkkkaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy tttthhhhhhhheeeeennn

So you've chosen the fact you can wall mount it over the crappy response time and contrast ratio? I really suggest you invest in a better quality monitor and cut on other things accordingly, what's the point in the almost best graphics card money can buy and a shitty monitor? If you really need quality on the cheap then get a CRT.
