Drifting?
Hi there, are there any good drifting tutorials out there, preferably videos? I really want to get into drifting (but be good at it)

Thanks,
hunter

Brilliant, thanks a lot
How does he get the man to appear when in cockpit?

This vid makes me wanna drift to...need to concentrate on staying on track first though haha
Look up the "Drift Bible" on youtube or google video. It really helped me learn the basics of drifting, it's quite long though, so dialup=pain in the ass.

After watching Drift Bible go on track and practice a lot, it's the only way you'll get better at it.
umm... i learn how to drift by joining to a drift server and watching other drift and their pedal movements and practice. i hope this doesn't turn into one of those drft vs grip
there is only one way to get good at drifting - practice till your arms fall off...then wait till you can move again, and repeat that

lol tried that and yep my arms are hurting like mad... darn FFB xD
You could try going into the skid pad-Auto cross and try holding various radius's for long as possible. Then once you can stay in one lane for acouple revolutions learn how to transition from one to another and then practice linking corners on a track.
Practise. Find what works best for you and go with it. I just used the XRG at Car Park in the beginning, now I'm not too bad

Already done that twice lol, the FF doesn't feel like much but when your drifting it really does make them ache.
Thanks for all of the comments and responses every one, after watching the Drift Bible, I realised that what I was doing was a combination of almost all of them :P I need to use the brake a little more as well, maybe go a bit slower into various corners that I'm over shooting and faster in ones that I'm not quite making. LFS is by far the best game for drifting imo and the drifter's are great Thanks

(Bearing in mind I've almost had the game a week, I'm not doing too bad )
I'm quite fond of the shift lock, as I use an H gate. The ebrake is nice and easy, cause it requires less to worry about. I'm still learning myself, as there are many corners that cause me to slide off the track. Can always try a little power over, get a feel for it a bit. I do mostly power over in fern bay gold rev. In Aston cadet rev, I use a mix of shift lock, power over, ebrake a bit too. The one corner I can hit in that every time is the 3rd turn (where theres a slight turn before it, and then the harder turn follows. I just slow down, turn before the turn, downshift, counter steer, and feel it out.)
i rather use a slippery setup so i dont have to handbrake or shift down as much, just a quick flick and steer into it and it works, oh and the brake helps alot more than you may think. keep practising i spent a whole day on so long rev to get good at it and im still workin on that track just devote yourself to a different track a day thats what i tend to do then go back to them every so offen
my personal tip is to go to the bl carpark build 2 corners at each end across the entire width of the thing (3 tyre stacks for entry apex and exit are enough to make build those ... 10 secs of layout editing) and use some more or less soft layout on road normals so you can gauge the weight transfer better

and id advise you to go right for the braking drift and to train just that until you can nail those corners (switch them up a little every now and then) consitently
the reason for the braking drift is that it will teach you the most on where to shift the weight and how to time all of it

might be a bit of a steep learning curve but ive found the steeper it is the quicker you get to see some proper results
