Yes, the longitudinal curve has a small peak, which is virtually impossible to ride on. This curve really needs to be fixed to have high grip a bit longer, but slowly drop off more than now if you have extreme wheel spin.
Right now the on average fastest way is to go full throttle, because if you try to ride on the peak you're very likely losing much more time feathering the pedal. The only way to be really faster is to immediately nail it right and stay on the green part seen in the attachment below - going over it and trying to correct will just make you lose time by over correcting and going into the left blue part again.
