Just got back from a week in Snowdon, and have been tinkering with panoramic photo's.

Anyone familiar (more familiar than me) with doing panoramas?, any tips, hints or better software to use?.

hugin works very well for me
ive been experimenting with qtvr panoramas recently:

and also with zoomable panoramas:

(you can still pan horizontally even if its fully zoomed out)

I've had acceptable results with Panorama Maker, but you really need good sources. Anyway the Tips and Tricks section for Panorama Maker can give some good hints.

Edit: Don, excellent job! I see hugin official pages also have a lot of tutorials. I suppose they are a good place for a start.

They're not QTVR because they don't use Quicktime?
