... but there seems to be a serious "no additions, please"-attitude going on.

Ok, LFS is already so fully loaded with cool stuff like a brilliant physics-engine (except for crashes), and low cpu-usage, and ... er... hmmm... er... did I mention the physics-engine... and, you know that... hmmm...

Really, objectively you don't get THAT much bang for the bucks. But appart from that I don't really understand what you are affraid of.

Do you think the devs will add spinners before they fix the hilarious aerobatic-shows caused by hitting the wall with 30mph?

Do you fear an onrush of newbies coming over from NFS because LFS has some eye-candy too?

I really don't understand why someone could be against new content that can be turned off / left unused anyway.

"A muscle-car? I don't like that. Don't implant it."
well thats not my view, i dont think people have that opinion but they want specific improvements that have been asked for for ages like weather changes aswell as a list of other things. Some of the things that are being mentiond by other like muscle cars are not priority atm.
I think the biggest fear is the same thing that happens with most moddable games - you get so many versions that are all incompatible and need to download a new version before you can join the server. You might have v2.0426812 but the server is now running v2.0426837 and you need to find that one.

The other fear is the type of mods. I wouldn't want to see a server packed with ricers (Barrys) because that's not what I'm interested in.

I'd love to see some classic muscle and obviously a load of new tracks. And sometimes you get player created content for things that is really great. But it's inevitable that with it will come some serious crap (look at the sheer number of horrible CS:S mods available for an example) and since most LFSers are sim racers and not necessarily traditional 'geeks', it won't appeal.

+1 for my idea for LFS track maker

I fail to see your improvement suggestion in this post.

I think it's Off Topic here and I think you missunderstood it completly.
It's not like people don't want additions made by the devs.

Most people just don't want LFS to be moddable for everyone because then we would get a lot of crappy stuff like in all the others games.

Most people I know want new stuff but a lot of them would always vote for new physics/aero/more players on track/real pitting procedure/single tire change etc. stuff instead of another car or shiny new offical textures or car interior that isn't really usefull when driving or improves the driving of LFS much. (Personally I never watch the inside of my car while racing or think about if it is nice, has hires textures or not)

Anyway none of us have really influence of that.
It's all in Scawen's hands and it good like it is.

It's a spawn of the continuous repetition of the same requests over and over. The first request was probably taken much better than the 4882289th.

It implies that you can't improve LFS if you don't change it.

I'm not talking about mods - I don't care about them. I'm talking about real additions, made by the devs. Maybe even features that are cool in other games. But exactly this seems to be a reason not to add them, like other games are not LFS (~ sim) and taking some of their features will make LFS worse or some superstition like that.

So why this forum? To have the buyers BELIEVE they have a direct influence on future versions / patches? ... in addition to the physics-engine.

Quote from Mike85 :Nobody mentioned mods. He mentioned additions to the game. New features. And there are many people who are against any new addition. Thats interesting

Yep. Basically that's what I meant.
Basically your only constructive comment is that the crash physics (where the cars go spinning off on their end or disappear skywards) needs to be made more realistic.
Well there's no-one here who would argue that. The rest of your post is heresay and your interpretation of the some of the more negative forum posters, without adding any real specific examples.
I have a very different impression of the forum from you and the way the game has developed over the years.
we are all entitled to our opinions. Over the years there have been hundreds of suggestions and improvements (as well as thousands of poor ones) that have played a part in the development of the sim, and will continue to do so.
The development of LFS isn't a democracy. Its far from it, Scawen makes the game, along with Eric and Victor. Its their game, so they do what they like with it. Improvement suggestions are what they are, suggestions. Not everything gets put into the game.

OK thanks. The subforum is for improvement suggestions, not a general critique of the community and your perception of their attitudes to suggestions.
