No Longer Welcome
i have seen a few people with this message underneath their name in the
"demo" or "s2 licenced" area

what have they done to deserve this?

im not justifying their actions i just never knew why it was done and what it does

can they still play and use the forum?

Just means they are banned from the forum, depending on what they did would mean how long the ban was for (temporary or permanent) They can still browse the forum, just not post with that account.

As far as I know it doesn't mean you get banned from the game as well, just posting on the forum.
They probably directly or indirectly admitted to cracking the game, or were posting offensive or extremely stupid things. However, they can probably still read the forums and they're definitely able to play the game.
As far as I know, it's a ban on the forum and the master server, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

For demo players it usually means they were caught cracking the game. For licenced, it's something bad and/or illegal they have done which resulted in a ban.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

*EDIT*
nvm, I'm way too slow.
Don't forget spamming on the forum too

@gohfield23: No, they're not banned from the master server. Only very few people (I only know of one) had the special honour of being banned from there, and they really deserved it.
i heard of one guy phobos i think it was or something

he did something really bad to the forum i heard, maybe a rumor
yeah what did he do?

i heard about something but then everything about him was deleted
i found a nice bit summing him up

Phlos,

Before you leave, could you please post here what you were hoping to achieve by doing this. I have been curious for quite a while as to what drives somebody to break in to someone else's server, despite the fact that they are breaking the law, with no apparent reward to justify it.

1. To show Victor (and devs) that he (they) should hire someone to fix security holes before a bad hacker ruin his (their) work by deleting everything or whatever.
2. For fun.

and he ain't liked by some

you are the most un-honourable racer I ever met. Every wrecker has more behaviour.
you are selfish, arrogant and totally self-focused retarded idiot.
you are alone, and i'm sooo sorry for that.

So now you think, you helped LFS, by behaving like a cheap thief (again)? It's ridiculous, and I think it's about time we use the info we have on you with some buddies with baseball-bats in france, watch ur back, slowpoke.

There's really no reason to give him any attention.

BTW old news..

Hello chaps.. I've gone ahead and closed this thread, not least because we don't want to hand attention to certain peculiar people.

It's very possible that you'll see more "no longer welcome" messages than normal at the moment. The mods are actually tidying up the forum, and reducing the number of duplicate and second accounts right now. As you know, you're only permitted one registered username on the LFS forum, and that's associated with your LFS licence and shows your licence level. There are a few exceptions, most particularly very early joiners of the forum and LFS, who have S2 accounts but post on the forum using demo accounts (J.B. probably being the best known).

For many of the "No longer welcome" tag lines, it would probably be better to read "No longer active", but we don't have that as an option at the moment.

It's all basically not as big a deal as it perhaps looks
I know the thread is closed but just to set facts straight:
Quote from garph :They can still browse the forum, just not post with that account.

Banned users cannot browse the forum at all if they had set the forum to auto-login, as they won't be able to log back out and then browse as a guest.
