Quote from dawesdust_12 :People clearly haven't seen The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Yes cause the 40 Year Old Virgin and Drafting in oval racing has great correlation
Quote from LFSn00b :Sorry, but i think we don't need different "oval physics". It is boring already, imho it should be deleted

I know, the game is supposed to include all kinds of racing sports... But where is the drift tracks? Kart tracks/cars?

Imho, we do not need that much oval physics, the oval "drivers" seem to go well enough.

First of all, the devs have only said that they wish to model all sort of racing on wheels and secondly, drifting is not racing sport. It might be motor sport because you use a vehicle powered by a motor, but because it's not a competition of speed but style, it is not racing.

Thirdly, we already discussed briefly that there is no such thing as oval physics. But no, you wanted to be smart and go say that you think we don't need it. There isn't oval physics, there is only flawed aero models which will affect road racing more than you think. I'm not a huge fan of ovals myself, especially in LFS where it's what it is. But I've played N2003 and I know it can be fun on tracks you need to brake. Can't believe I'm saying this, but the oval bashing is getting rather old, especially when you just shout out random statements without backing them up properly with something.
oh, this is "improvement suggestions"? alright, i want 3 ovals, 2 cheesburgers and a coke.

lol, as if there has never been a pro/contra-oval threat before

:tired::wow::tired:

edit: damn blackout, didn´t see your post in time

Doesnt the physics slightly change abit when the car is not straight, its more diagonal? Im not saying it is, its more of a question so dont flame me if it isnt..

and second, if an oval is the same as a road course, how come in the cart series they used to change the wing shapes dramatically?

The physics don't change, the behaviour of the car does. People seem to confuse the effect of physics with the actual physics.

Quote from Blackout :Don't try to drag this on personal level again please.

These pretentious claims that all ovals take "no skill" and are meant for retards I take personally. Someone saying that oval drivers have absolutely no skill is the exact same thing as someone calling me a worthless mentally challanged bum. I take any attack on ovals as an attack on me personally. If someone insults oval racers collectively (as Forbin and LFSnoob has done), that'll naturally include me. So how can I not take it personally?

HOWEVER, I WILL hold my tongue on LFSnoob's comment. You already gave a good explanation on it

Quote from Gunn :Aw c'mon now, he never said they had no skill.

It's implied

Quote from lizardfolk :As a result, his view is likely that oval racers are retards with no skill and cant drive for crap

misquote him to start and argument. Smooth.

The FO8 was imo much more fun than the BF1 simply because the car was more unstable.

You can't say the Oval is a fun track to drive on, or that it's hard, because it's not, but it IS a hard track to race on and fun in a close situation, unfortunately some of the worst drivers in LFS are attracted to the whole "200 MPH - No Skill Required!" line and end up ruining good racing

(ex-oval whore, btw)
Quote from aoun :and second, if an oval is the same as a road course, how come in the cart series they used to change the wing shapes dramatically?

How come about every F1-team ran single rear wings at Monza? How come they change something on the car every race?

The conditions change! And the nature of sport is to use every tiny little advantage you can acquire as long as it's within the rules...
Quote from PLAYLIFE :I dont want to defend anyone here, but the oval we have in LFS is dumb... You can drive any car there with full throttle.

Didn´t know this yet. Did someone delete the XRT, RAC, FZ5 and the LXs from the game?

Quote from Blackout :There is no oval physics.

That´s one of the reasons why we finally move to rfactor. The slipstream physics in lfs are very unrealistic.

BTW: Driving like a grandma on the oval is easy. Like Jakg says. But driving fast is hard to master.

Im sure youll find nobody other than you said that in this topic. so your basically taking yourself personally?
Take it personally then. Driving on the oval takes no skill and is for retards. Without exception.
Hooray For Boobies!

go Tristancliffe!!
It's easy to drive oval, but it's hard to MASTER IT. Lines and setups matter so much. So it takes skill to be fast.
thread starter is giving oval racing a bad name.

remember that we had a different physic engine back in the days?
Thats the only reason why its been so unstable. About the people that prefer the "200 MPH - No Skill Required!" way, many of them realize very soon thats its not as easy as it looks like and i can tell out of experience that almost 90% leave after a couple of laps/ races and the rest accepts the challenge and will soon find some intense and thrilling racing.

For me, its a hard track because as soon as i reach the limits, meaning my personal and those of the game (setup, track) its getting really hard, hotlap mode and in the grid. Now if it wouldn't be, we would have at least 100 people+ with the same hotlap time, no matter which car. I assume everybody who thinks this TRACK is a joke just never even tried to reach their own limits or found the motivation to improve themselves. Of course, its a matter of taste but if you dont like it, dont try to find some stupid arguments and make it less enjoyable for people that love it or never tried it before. Also, i never denied that the oval as we have it is in any way compareable with any circuit track and the skills that are needed but why would i try to compare two entirely different things? Both are tracks but with different goals behind it, unfortunately the draft engine is still incomplete (speaking about the push-pull effect) which is not only reflecting on the oval but even curcuit track racing would be rather different, at least at tracks with longer straights. Its like comparing FWD with RWD cars, both solutions requiring their very own set of skills but still, both are cars.

Quote from tristancliffe :Take it personally then. Driving on the oval takes no skill and is for retards. Without exception.

reading your comments is a waste of time and takes no skills and this is why it lets just you look like a retard. Show me your achievements and prove me wrong, otherwise get lost you bored snob.
HIHHAA OVAL DISCUSSION:banana:

now thats clearly an insult towards the gay population.
In that case we should switch that insider to "Yep, he´s Tristan"
Clearly this is personal attacks.

Maybe lizard guy should open his eyes a bit and tell the difference between a personal attack and an oppinion about a sport. Yeh?
I love mentioning the ovals. Team FM always come running to defend it by trying to insult me. It's fecking hilarious. It's even better watching Germans attempt to take the mickey, because they are rubbish at insults.

"FRAGMASTER - WE ROCK (because we are the only people dull enough to spent time on the oval for more than 3 laps)

Have fun in rFactor. I hope you enjoy more unrealistic driving experiences with your new driving game.

You should post the sound file so he can use it as the windows welcome sound. I wonder from which movie it was actually.
C´mon spambot..erm.. I mean tristan, you are the MASTER INSULTER Of ALL CLASSES, so shut up and stop crying.
Maaaan if I had one of those hands of mod like Benbob has.

Beeing rubbish at insults (ha!) ? As if beeing good at it would make a difference at all. Just because for what people are doing or how they look like gives you a reason to treat them like retard's? Is there nothing else in your life then beeing dumb & despising to others in this forum? Thats so sad...
