Today we had out first test of what the series maybe like.....
20 people out on FE Club in an 8 minute qualifying session prior to a race.
It was a little busy, yes and a little crazy for sure, but i'm glad we did it.
I would like to point out a 'rule' that i think we should put in place....
no 'barging' out of the pits.. once you are out of the pit box it's your responsibility to not hit others.
Also please don't blast past people once you go over the pit limiter line, leave the pits in single file and ensure that you don't come out of the pits into traffic and block/ruin their laps.
Blue Flags during qualifying....
Only valid for the first sector of a lap after you have left the pits.
Until that time, do not block or get in the way of anyone on a hotlap.
After that first section you are free to 'ignore the blug flag' messages in qualifying only, but remember, treat others as you expect to be treated yourself... it is your responsibility to pass any cars cleanly just like in a race. My advise, try and find some space and get a clean lap in.
Yellow flags
these still have to be respected, if a car in front slows for a yellow, you can not pass them..
The actual race series could have up to 32 cars qualifying on the track at the same time. This means that 32 people will not get clean laps in, and as a result will jumble the grid abit making for fun races..
Please do not argue about this format as it has been specifically designed to make for some un-predictable grids whilst still giving people the oppotunity to qualify whilst displaying some degree of racecraft, rather than make in a longer more boring hot lappers paradise..
