Hi. Some people reported my for a mistake I made in a race and I wasn't too worried - a similar mistake in a kart race got someone's license taken away for a month. This is a computer game, noone gets hurt and nothing gets damaged and I just a waste a few minutes of someone else's time - revenge or a penalty should be the equivalent - for instance a one race ban. When I looked through threads I saw that people got 90 day bans for things that in real life could even get let off. Why are the penalties so unjust? Is there a way to complain and get a refund if I get a stupid ban or did I accept some stupid small print?

So why did I close this thread?

Firstly, we don't ban for 90 days these days in the CTRA. If you get banned for more than two weeks, you're probably permanently banned.

Secondly, the CTRA (this is the CTRA subsection) is operated by a group of admins who agree between them exactly what the penalties are for both specific and general incidents.

Lastly, CTRA stands for Computeam Race Authority. It is THE racing authority for the CTRA servers. The penalties are what the admins decide that the penalties are. There is nothing to be gained by this discussion and if I left the thread open, some people might falsely get the impression that the topic was in some way open to negotiation. Put simply, it isn't.

Sure, i'll refund every penny you've ever paid to CTRA for you.

For general information: The majority of our admins are real world experienced marshalls / clerks in their respective country. Some are veteran sim racers.

If you disagree with a report and wish to protest then please, by all means, protest via PM to me. I'll probably throw it out, other than a couple of genuine mistakes in selecting the right driver i've never yet known a CTRA admin to make a decision that warranted appeal.

The fact that we have multiple levels of bans, and the fact that we use points deductions and simple warnings, isn't a question open for discussion. Individual reports where you feel the penalty is wrong is. Just honestly dont make an appeal believing it will be sucessful, they usually aren't.
