Nascar?

Quote from DrDNA :Nascar?

Dear god no

Both Tony Steward and Kyle Busch proved what overconfidence and arrogance can do to NASCAR. Plus we dont need another overrated crossover driver screwing up turn after turn

Besides as George put it

Quote from George Kuyumji :No way would Ralf Schumacher ever drive in a NASCAR series. He was already afraid of driving in Monte Carlo or in Indy.

How badly did hes performance drop after he left Williams(and 2005 with Toyota)
hahaha..

Good riddance indeed! I'd like Montagny to get his wheel, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen.

Montagny never really got a fair chance in F1. When he was with Jordan in 2005 he clocked a time in the European Grand Prix that was faster than Karthikeyan or Montero.

Super Aguri never gave him a good car. In fact the car was immensely horrible. And I felt that the decision to repace him with Yamamoto was biased.

Interestingly enough, he was very impressive in Pescarolo in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. (His qualifying time was very impressive).
Ralf may suck now.. But people forget that there was a time when Ralf was Competetive..

I do, it was in the 2001, and 2002 season. Both 4th in the championship
He was competitive once. But that had more to do with the car really. He's always sucked to some degree. And I don't see him pushing the development of any of his teams, nor making them get to the front. Something his brother was good at.

I think Ralf would be remembered as 'not bad, but nothing to waste ink on', if it wasn't for Michael. Instead, he'll be remembered as 'the crap brother'. The latter is more fitting.
Quite a few years back i worked with a bloke who bought a nice little red Toyota MR2, was a cracking little car to be honest. However, the first thing he did was take off all the Toyota badges and replace them with Ferrari ones, (yeah, onto the stock MR2 body !) he even went as far as sticking the chrome 'written' Ferrari name on the back !

Can't even begin to tell you how much stick he got for that, we ripped him to shreds, poor guy . Hardly a day went by for 2 years without someone mentioning it. Yet, in all that time never changed them back to the Toyota originals.

And thats how i feel about Ralf as an F1 driver, He may have the best name in racing on his overalls, but underneath, he was just a pretty average kind of driver. Good in his own right, but not and would never be a Micheal, and certainly not a Ferrari.
Well to be honest im actually shocked with the news as i always had respect for Ralf and to hear him leaving Toyota is a shock to me.
I couldnt care less for this sledging that is going on here he was...is remotly a decent driver and should be remeberd for what his done.
Though if you were put in his same position could you make Toyota preform like it should? could you not have done the same in his situation, you cant just out rightly say stuff unless you have gone through the same process, you can have an oppinion but god be known you cant say stuff that only a person that had gone through that process would know.

Can anyone name a teammate he's beaten?
I look forward to see him in the (wrecker series) DTM.
I hope they fill his place with a current GP2 driver so Alx can get a GTP2 contract.
Quote from Mustafur :Montoya(2001) and Button(2000) just spring to mind..

Who were both in debut seasons at the time.

I'm not slating Ralf at all. He was a decent driver in his prime and had a few noteable races. He has never been massively outshone by any of his team mates either (off the top of my head!), so IMO he did his best with most of the drives he was in. He just doesn't have the final few percent to be a more exciting driver. His attitide always sucked though IMO.

Jordan for one. He joined in 1996 or 97 I think it was.. And he was rear-gunner in alot of Jordan's good points scores in that era.

Just goes to show, people just seem to jump on the fashional bandwagon of micky and go on to RIP poor Ralfy to shreads... I have always respected him.. I would like to see what some of the guys on here would do in Ralfs shoes. Living in your brothers shadow.. If you win people may say you just got tips, if you lose you are slated for being the 'whipping' boy in the Schumacher Family..
Just give the guy some credit ffs, whether he was competetive in 2001 or 1953. There have been worse drivers who seemed to get more of a welcomed goodbye, Jean Alesi to name 1.. The guy only won 1 race..
Alesi was a lot better than Ralfy.

Alesi's problem was never being in the right team. He should have gone to Williams instead of Ferrari, then we'd have seen his mettle.
I don't have statistics handy - just memories - but didn't Ralf spend his first four or five years in F1 mostly having very avoidable crashes? Nobody talks about it because he's not Japanese, but he must be among the all time most-crashiest F1 drivers.

Even my girlfriend knows Ralf's crap and he always crashes.

Proberly came here and read all the Ralf sledging thats going on.

My opinion is above and is staying that way.

Quote from lizardfolk :I liked Alesi. I remember when he was driving with Senna, he said he didn't mind being the secondary driver and he'd support Senna instead of challenging him (like Alonso with Hamilton).

That's quite noble of him. You dont really see that in F1

You'll have to remind me...when did Alesi and Senna drive together?

I got my facts wrong sorry (ignore my comment)
