South City Critique
Most of you know I'm a oval racer. Therefore, I have a lot to learn about road course racing.

I've decided to tackle South City again, but this time with the BF1 and the FO8 (I have a dual with a friend in open wheel cars coming up soon). Both these cars were on the [default] setup.

Any comments, critique or advice would be greatly appreciated

This is my first time with both cars on this track so please dont be too harsh on me

Also, if it's possible, let me know if the time I got with the default set is good

i had a look at the F08 run

you might want to try setting the car so that it won't bottom out on almost every bump. that'll upset the car especially coming out of the chicane.

turn in earlier into the first tight left hander

take the chicane faster, trail brake and smoothly apply the throttle early on

take the last turn much faster, try to trail brake into that one too

in general i liked your driving, you were driving quite sensibly and thus noticing the places where to improve. with practise (and setup tweaking) your laptimes will improve by a few seconds i'm sure...
Kompa said what I would've said. You miss the apex of turn 1 on most laps - you need to brake a little earlier for that, but not too much earlier, you still want a late apex. Also, be braver with the throttle on the exit. In the chicane you really need to be on the power before you can see the exit, and on the last corner you're not using all the road - there's more than a car's width of space on your right when you turn in. Using the full width of the track allows you to take corners faster.

Not much to say on a track with only three corners. It's basically an oval with a little kink in it.
I'm not going to stricken you with any of my advice, (unless you really do want to learn how to drive really slowly and yet crash at virtually every corner)

But i just want to say "Good on yer" for having a go at a different form of racing other than your beloved ovals. Hopefully you'll begin to see why all us lot love road courses and how fantastic it feels to search the full potential of how these LFS cars handle.

I've not looked at the spr (my LFS is on another HDD) but you've certainly picked a hard combo to learn on for your first attempt. The F08 and BF1 are quite tricky cars to master especially in such a tight twisty unforgiving place as South City. But, best of luck to you and lets hope to see you online

Heres a crappy set (that's for SO1R, where i pwn in the FO8), and some laps i did if it helps with lines - tbh you just need to learn how to use all of the track...
