Wheeeels....
I'm just a newbie in this game.... and the way to go is to get a steeringwheel... pretty hard to control the power when the grip is so bad. Seriously - the amount of grip is way to low at low speed. I have raced racingcars in real life and this is the only real flaw I have come across in this game. I have raced Geoff Grammonds games and he understood that part of the game much better.
I'm fully aware that k/b is no go for serious sim racing, but hey... this is way off...

Anyway - which wheel is great at the time... i'ts been a while since I bought my last one.. say 5 years... heh heh...

Hope to get experts advice form you guys... I know I will ....
Logitech Driving Force Pro
Hi there Where do i start , the best wheel for me is still the Logitech Driving Force Pro for Playstation 2 with you can use with the new software from Logitech on your pc . I know alot of players with that wheel , some professional some newbies and they are all to 100% satisfied . I have the Logitech MOMO , it fits super just like a glove in your hands but it doesnt have that many buttons . Of course instead of 6 you can programm it to 12 or more buttons but thats not that simple , you have to know how to do it . Believe me get the Logitech Driving Force Pro and you will never ever want another wheel again .

I hope that was helpfull

It's known that LFS has poor grip at low speeds and in a few circumstances (such as the rate of regaining grip after a slide). Whilst Geoff Crammonds simple physics engines DO have grip at low speeds, they are seriously lacking in every other aspect.

But yes, a simulation is best played with a wheel, as it's the real life controller.
i have a MOMO myself and i love it, would happily recommend it to anyone anfter a wheel
I just bought a Logitech DFP and find it awesome.

I used a Logitech Momo Racing before but it was finished after 2 years.

The dfp feels more accurate, especially the turning axis, has loads of buttons and u can get it around 90€ at some online shops, very good deal for that Price!
call me old fashioned but i still use a microsoft forcefeed back 2.. i know its old and ive had it for years but it have never once stopped working,

the power socket on the back is starting to go funny, you can be racing and then all of a sudden your FFB stops and you get a loose wheel..

but as i said i have had it years
where?
Does anyone no where i get either the logitech momo or logitech dfp from, cause only place i have foun them is ebay. all the momo ones r in US and the dfp is £69.99 so was wonderin if anyone nos a good place to get either at a reasonable price?
provantage.com
I was going to buy from them, but instead i got it from circuit city for 110. They (provantage) have a good resellerratings.com rating and are pretty cheap, i recomend the DFP.

note: i don't know if i'm allowed to mention names, i'll take it off if an admin wants.

hi there

i dont wanted to start an extra thread for my question.

im using a thrustmaster ff racing wheel with 2 digital and 2 analog pedals behind the wheel.
i dont like using the ground pedals cause me feets start hurting after 10 mins of play.

is there a good wheel out there which supports these pedals?
Hope this thread gets checked at sum point. From all i have read on this forum the DFP seems to be the more commonly used wheel and seems to come higher rated than the momo. So as everywhere i have found that sells either the DFP or the momo are about the same price apart fromE-buyer who sell the DFP for £64.41 but they havent got any in stock. ONly place i found is in dixons for £99.99. Just wondered if anyone knows where to get one relatively cheaply and has stock?
Why don't you just order and wait for the delivery to arrive? Some shops order their (more expensive) stuff only when they have a customer to sell it to...

No problems here with them, bought a few bits and pieces off them over the years. Dunno what their aftersales service is like but their ordering and delivery system is fine/reliable.

I'm new and a Dunce, but I bought the Logi DFP and got the PC software via download, but I could not get the pedals to work in LFS--is there some special trick to that?

Thanks
Welcome to LFS - nice to see new people on a daily basis!

Plug the pedals in to the wheel.
Do they work in windows control panel?
If so you will be able to assign them to axis in LFS, although you might need to choose your axis carefully, invert one or both of them, and ensure your pedals are on separate axis (so you can use both pedals at once).
Quote from thisnameistaken :Best price I found on the DFP was at Ebuyer.com for £64.41 inc. VAT. Apparently out of stock right now but they usually have them.

My opinion on the Momo/DFP debate: I haven't used a Momo. The DFP is quite notchy, especially noticable when you crank the force feedback up (which is very strong), it also has the crappest shifter paddles I've ever seen, and for me the 900-degree steering is a pointless feature. I've got mine set at 720 at the moment but am tempted to turn it down to something like 400. Trying to catch slides in the LX6 is just a pain in the arse when lock is a full turn away.

When you turn the level of rotation down does it acctually phsically stop it from turning any further?

Also where do you get the software to use it with PC games?

Hi,

what's the exact question? If you're talking about this wheel, I think you can map the two axes behind the wheel to gas and brake in LFS. Haven't had the chance to try the Thrustmaster Rallye GT Pro Force Feedback, but they use it in SimWorld and I heard the wheel is okay. For about €100, it's worth considering.
