Open photoshop, open the skin.dds file, save it as a jpg.

Aah. You need to go to the nvidia textures site and load the dds plugin for photoshop. Its free. It works. You can google it.
That lets you edit dds files in photoshop.

wait wen i try to install and put it in

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 5.0\Plug-Ins

it says 'invalid write protected'

Don't put it in plugins, put it in its default install directory, Photoshop will take care of the rest.

Just remember: MANY skins you find in you skins_x are NOT free to be used or edited by you! So I'd be careful what you get from there...
