I have added a setups page to the gentlefoot.com site. See

LFS Setups

These are all tried and tested over race distance, are consistent and within a 10th or two of WR. Most of these have been tweaked by yours truly but some of them do come from top racers such as papafant and storm_cloud to name a couple.

Mainly FOX sets at the moment but more sets will be added in time.
hey mate,

Aah - relative paths have a habit of cocking up your testing.

Try again and they should all work now.

Thanks for letting me know.
All working now, thanks.
Nice looking site to.
Yesterday I added the Fern Bay Black Reverse set I used in Sunday's GFC. It's a nice set. I had good pace all race and would have finished 2nd had it not been for a disconnection.

I also set a 2:19.3 lap during the race, less than half a second off WR which around a long circuit like this is very close.
look great for a setup n00b like me
As much as I have to say that I tend to agree with those who take issue with your spamvertisements for the GFC league at any opportunity, I applaud any efforts to create a database of useful setups. The stuff available at Inferno is quick, but mostly seems biased towards hotlapping. What is far more useful to the average racer are setups orientated towards races, rather than hotlapping or alien sets that tend to be incredibly twitchy or unpredictable. Look forward to seeing the list of setups expand to the other popular classes in the future.

Not sure whether that's good or bad but... thanks??

I've added a few more setups recently. I plan to do some competitive racing in the LXs and also some Rallyx in the XFG or XRG soon and will add any more setups I'm 100% happy with.

Well both, but more of the good than the bad. Only negative point I hinted at was the lack of different car types covered by your setups with it mainly being FOX, but that's understandable given the single seaters raced in your league, and the fact that the setup collection has just been started.
Hey mate,
I've been using your FOX setup on a majority of tracks and found it to be the best so far. I have changed it very very slightly but its great.

It's because I've been specialising in FOX lately and these are the only ones I'm 100% sure about. I'll be competing in the LX4 soon and also one of the TBOs - probably the XRT. We'll see how I go. If I can't get close to WR pace then it will remain just FOX sets lol.

Which set? It's amazing that it's good on lots of tracks because they are very track focused. Sometimes a set good on one track can feel terrible on another. Anyway - thanks for the thumbs up
Had fun trying you upcoming setups tonight GF,I hope to race with you again soon

PS: Aston North setup is the shiznit
Oh woops, I meant to say i've been using all your FOX sets on all the different tracks.

I particularly like the feel of the Aston Historic setup!

It's one of my favourites too
Thanks for making these sets available. To a newb like me, I'll use them to build up my racing skills to a point where I can tinker with the setups on my own and actually tell if it's making a difference, as opposed to a different driving habit making its appearance. Can't wait to get home and try them out!
Thanks for the sets! really helped me on AS-Club... I can now get 1:01 and 1:00's.....before it was 1:04 and 1:03

Got a question... You said these sets are able to get close to WR but also good for the long run.... How long? I try to conserve my tires as much as I can but still can only run 6 laps on some of them.. Is it my driving or is 6 - 10 laps quite long for sets like these?
Well, I know Gentlefoot has used a lot of the FOX setups for racing in the GFC, where the races last 75 minutes. The tyres may heat up and show red surface temperatures on the F9 display after a few laps but once the rubber starts to wear down the temperatures settle down. Infact they're generally faster the longer you run, and the tyres usually last longer than 100% fuel does in the FOX.
oh.... ha ha..... Thanks for the info... :slap:
Time to re-download some of those sets I tweaked, lol
Yep - all the sets will last over the long run (anything up to 75 mins). The tyres will go through a hot stage until they start to thin slightly. It's then that they really start to get grippy.
Please be aware that these setups were produced using patch X. To use them with Patch Y you will need to rename them to FOX_.. instead of FORMULA_XR_...

I am currently working on the modification of these sets for patch Y and I will update these setups in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your patience.
Thanks for updating these sets

I have one question about the setup changes from patch x to patch y. I know its different from set to set, but what do you normally have to change in the setups for patch Y?

When I race BL1r with XRG I get around 1:36.xx and the leaders are getting 1:34 / 1:33...
Problem is, the car feels the same to me as in patch X, so I have no clue what to change in my setup to get a faster lap time.
Quote from Matt0snap : I have no clue what to change in my setup to get a faster lap time.

Your driving?
Already done that, I mean everyone is changing their sets to work with Patch Y... What exactly do they change? Camber? Suspension? Gearing? I already know tires heat up more now..so what else
With the FOX I found it was quite a bit slower - think it has less power, certainly less revs and a narrower power band. That's what it feels like to me.

I ended up reducing downforce slightly to compensate for this. Also the gear ratios needed changing too.

Think all cars peak power limits have been reduced in a similar way. Gear ratios will need changing. Maybe slightly closer gears or lower final drive.

The tyres are very different. In the FOX now the R1s are only good for a few laps with max pressure. I think this is what is costing the most time as you have to use R2s for anything more than a short sprint race.

The camber angles need amending too. In this thread I explain how I set up cars and in it is a useful way of finding the correct camber angles.

If you've got less grip you are going to need a bit less diff lock too. This is another thing I have been adjusting since patch X.

Brakes too ofcourse. A bit less overall force maybe.

Suspension settings should be pretty much the same between X and Y with non-downforce cars I reckon. Minor adjustments might be needed to maintain a nice balance.

Have fun - making setups is a great skill to learn.
Thank you so much. Now I should be able to tweak my sets and with my skills hopefully I won't screw them up to bad
