The 2900 Pro is like £170, whereas two 8600GTS's are £220...
If you can only afford an 8600, only get an 8600, but why spend all the money on an inferior chipset (typically nForce chipsets aren't as good as Intel Chipsets for Intel CPU's) when something like a P35 is cheaper and better...
Are the HD2900 Pro's any good compared to the 8800GTS? Is the performance loss a driver issue, or straight up hardware limits? Are they worth getting and overclocking? Or is the 8800 still the way to go?

Ahh thank you. I can't be arsed to look it up. I've been focusing on Xeons and Gigagyte boards. Sucks what happened with your 7950 purchace, those cards got dirt cheap pretty quick. I was going to throw on a Quad, and an 8600GTS, but decided to drop it to a Dual Core and throw a GOOD DX10 card on. And don't say I'll regret it. A dual core is PLENTY for me.
