Without stealing your thunder i went from 2.13 GHz to 3, and then when that was unstable, 2.8, and then back to 3 once i'd tweaked my mobo.

I believe he has it, unfortunately I also believe he hasn't grown up and is going to break it again. I have to agree that someone who deliberately destroys a laptop and seemingly doesn't seem to consider running go karts a huge expense is probably fairly spoilt. My parents are well off, they've paid for me to go to a good school but I don't need to show off about that fact. They don't spoil me though and I'm not just going to get a new car, PC and certainly not a motorsport career handed to me on a silver plate

There's the page link. I think its the OC edition, Its got 50Mhz extra on the Core clock speed and 100Mhz of Shader clock.

I was going to stay out of this, but Harjun, thinking a DUAL CORE 2.0GHz processor is slow is just crap. You do know 2.0x2 = 4GHz?

I'm a working person, I have an AMD Athlon XP3200, which clocks at 2.2GHz and overheats like hell due to the fact it's dying slowly. I'd do anything to get the most basic dual core system, my parents don't spoil me, ok yes they bought me a car, but I have to pay for everything to run that car, which is the reason why my computer is as bad as it is now.

I work my arse off all week just so I can run a car, I'm on minimum wage, which living in the UK isn't alot at all after tax. And then seeing spoilt brats like you get a computer that's high spec and thinking the processor is shit is absolute bollocks and really really annoys me.

Honestly, I actually do hope you overclock it and break it, it would put a nice smile on my face knowing that almost everybody here has told you not to after the laptop disaster, then you're gonna go ahead and do it anyway.

I work in a local computer shop as a Technician and you have no idea how many idiots like you we get in who've seen something on the internet about getting extra power without buying new parts by overclocking, tried it and killed their PC.

But then again, I suppose it's idiots like you who pay my wages.

No offence, but as a "PC Technician" you should know that statement is utter bollocks.

I just want to say that overclocking is nowhere near as dangerous as most people think, especially seeing as it's only since C2D's went mainstream that you could really supply enough vCore to kill stuff rather than just gently cooking it to death.

But then i'm biased by my 40% overclock...

yes Jakg...even i know that. And well, i really can't be stupid to make a computer, even though i did cut myself alot because of the cheapo £15 case, everything else went perfectly, the harddrive is just coming tomorrow, because they didn't have any in stock

I agree with Mr. X. Even when I was 10 years old, I was sticking up skittles in a pub for £5 a week. I done that for 5 year before getting a job working in a kitchen of a pub, washing dishes for £5 an hour, working roughly 10 hours over a weekend aswell as school during the week. I then got a full time job after leaving school, working in an office for a company that sold garden products. I was getting about £800 a month, plus the work I was doing on weekend means I was getting about a £1000 a month. I was working 7days a week, with very little time to myself. Every job I had I worked my bollocks off in, I gave it my all. From about the age of 13 I was paying for everything of mine and it didnt even cross my mind to ask my parents for money, not because they were skint, because they weren't, it just didnt cross my mind.

I have had a few things bought by my mum and dad for me. But I "worked" around the house, cleaning every room til it was spotless, hoovering, ironing, doing the dishes...you get the idea.

I may only be young, I haven't worked all hours so I can pay off a loan, or put food on the table, but you are young enough to be doing something, not have £700 High Spec PC's bought for you, just so you can say "obviously i'm not gonna sit there with some little 2Ghz pile of ...."

You seriously need to do some growing up if you are gonna use a grown up piece of kit.
