Finally got the computer :)

Without being offensive, Harjun cut every corner possible on his PC to get an 8800GTS 640, including a generic monitor and an 80 GB HDD.

I'd recommend this monitor, Custom PC did a widescreen monitor review (22"+), they found the £151 Hanns.G HG216DP was good, although only being HDMI (so you need an extra lead for a PC) and 20" let it down, they declared the Liyama ProLite E2201W-B (£220.90) was the best 22"and that the Samsung monitor i linked to was the best bet, however it's only 20" - at the time it was printed Amazon had the best price (£169.90) however i have no idea if this is current or not.

FTR they reviewed a 19" Cibox (eBuyer have a Cibox 22" for £150) and said it was naff, even when considering the price.

I must say that i probably have a rubbish monitor (Xerox XM3-22wB, picked up for a quite nice £180), but i really can't tell.

EDIT - For anyone who's vaguely interested in overclocking, i recommend you pick up this months copy of Custom PC - this is the first PC magazine that imo was any good, and rather than PC Pro's half-page rubbish walkthrough it gives you a 9 page guide on what you need to know, and is rather good.

I've been looking alot at this one:

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/129536

Looks alright, although I would prefer a black one.
Ew. Belinea are not exactly a quality make. What's wrong with this...?

Also, the one on eBuyer and amazon are NOT the same - i got confused - sorry!

Personally i love the size of my 22" and wouldn't want anything smaller, but if i got a slightly smaller better quality 20" monitor i'd probably be happier
Quality > Quantity
Wow, I just read almost this entire thread. The thing that strikes me is that this kid really seems to think that he has the greatest PC around here when really there are many other people (myself included) who's computers would PWN his setup...

...but we don't brag about them like that.
Who forgot to milk the cows?

Fastback - I don't recall Harjun saying that he think he has the greatest PC out of all of us, and i dont think he's bragging ether...

All the Mooers - I think ye are being like dirty bitches to him, your being...sneaky.

No, we're all together, as you probbably know.

Harjuns just being his usual brattish, bragging self.

I don't recall it either... it's implied in his way of "speaking."
I'm getting pretty fed up with all the kicking. This is Harjun's thread about his new PC build and I've been following the thread, interested to see what he'd build with the money.

Those of you who are here for any other reason need to stop trolling. And yes, you are trolling. We are more than likely to start dealing out infractions if it doesn't stop. Enough is enough, we're sick of it.

You just got my interest enough to skim through the thread. I noticed the absence of one simple thing:

Use your new computer in good health Harjun and have fun with it whether it's for gaming or for something more constructive.

sorry, was mean to say beast, and yes you are being sneaky, spotting every bit of mistake in it.

By the way, i'm posting with the new computer right now, and its good, with full settings on full grid, LFS is at 80fps, and single player 180fps....im just going to run a 3dmark06 score...and after a while i did get blue screens, and the computer shut down, guessing it was the RAM, i looked at the reviews, and it says run it a t 2.1V, so i upped it to that in the BIOS, and now everythings fine

I just wanna make a partition on the H.D.D and then maybe put vista on it

Thanks for the little people who helped, everything works, as you said, quality>quantity....

I wasn't bragging.

Thanks Jakg
Harjun

Whoops! Did I not tell you to up that Voltage? Sorry - I was looking at that RAM the other day for myself and was going to mention to you that you needed to up the voltage. Everything should be fine now.

How is the RAM, by the way? Nice and fast?

Yes, thank you too for being very helpful

i didnt come to brag, i just posted for a little bit of respect, so every time i mention computer, someone won't flame me, because i've built my own. Fair enough?

Thanks Jakg and mcintyrej (do you have msn? mc?)
Harjun

ok, im gonna do it now

7575...?

That is a little.... low - on my 3700 with a 7950GT (Half the performance) i got 5,200, and i now get 6,300 with a 3 GHz Quad - you should be looking at 9k+

Perhaps you need more up-to-date drivers...?
