double declutching and non syncro
how about having an historic type race car or even for the uf1 a non syncromesh gearbox were in manual mode you have to double declutch but also have a driving aid were you only have to clutch normally, it would also go well with clutch and engine damage.
so what do you think?
I've been toying with a idea to have a historic racing car, like Bugatti T35 (from 1920s) or something like that. (I even suggested it in a new cars thread). If that kind of a car was in LFS it would certainly need the right kind of gearbox (and tyres and leaf springs, etc). So in that case it would be +1 from me. I'm not sure if UF1 needs it, because I have no clear idea how old car it pretends to be.

With a '20s race car we would need also leather helmet with proper racing goggles and scarfs.
yeah i agree on the uf1 bit other cars like the xj120(i think its the one) that sorta style, upto 1962 sorta time
If you want an old car like that, LFS also needs more suspension types (swing arm, torsion beam, proper trailing arms, solid axles, etc). I don't think there is a mathematical difference between a leaf spring and a coil spring, it only matters if you want to draw it on screen.

Tyres are the other biggie, massively different back then to now.
i would like to see cars with non-synchro trannys.
i'd also like to see the race cars have proper sequentials.

first things first though, patch y
yeah i agree first things first but you never know
I don't get the double declutching thing though...

I'd like some historic cars in lfs
its were you depress the clutch to disengage gear then engage it to get it the same speed as the output shaft so it slips in gear when you cluth again, the reason you dont do it now is that the gearbox has sleeves in it that as you change gear syncronise the shaft speeds hence the name syncomesh gearbox because it syncronises the gears so the mesh together, howstuffworks.com has a good description
I'd also like to see good driving with manual declutches or rev matching being slightly faster than the automatic aids.
we NEED proper clutch / transmission!
+1 for the OP suggestion and +1 for the above post

Yes for cars that do not have a syncro. For info even an old 1970's mini has a syncro so UF1 should stay as is.
I'd love it if non-synchro boxes come into lfs, but right now the code that handles the clutch sucks way too much.
yeah ok forget the yf1 and i agree that atm the codeing doesnt support it but in future it could
Quote from ajp71 :I'd also like to see good driving with manual declutches or rev matching being slightly faster than the automatic aids.

lfsworld will measure all manual shifting-times, and the auto-clutch will then be averaged to that .

to contribute a bit to the topic: sure nice as an option. but hey, I don't even feel the brake, so smooth tip-toeing and stuff without any feedback from brake and clutch... ... ... damn, I wonder how some of you guys do this!
Absolutely. Classic cars are brilliant.
