Quote from BlueFlame :That's why I like Liverpool, it is the only team left with TRUE football passion

Have you heard of Newcastle United?

We haven't won anything since 1969 yet still you get 50,000 supporters in St James' Park for the home games.

Personally, I'd call that passion. Nobody is quite as passionate as the Gerodies with football, the football results determine how good the atmosphere will be around Newcastle the following day. It's really a unique thing.
Quote from Monkeymike :Lived in Manchester all 31 years of my life, supported United throughout (which included the 80's when we were lucky to win the odd FA cup). You talk complete crap about Mancunians only supporting Citeh, it depends almost entirely which part of Manchester you are from as to who you support, pretty much the same situation between Liverpool and Everton in that city.
I don't deny that 'glory-hunter' supporters followed us through our dominant years, just as Arsenal and Chelsea got them recently and Liverpool did through the 80's - the true fans of any club are as passionate as any other and remain when the success fades.

Well, not only do I know Man Utd fans, but I know the players, I work with Lee Martin, ex-manchester united player, he scored the winning goal in the 1990 FA-CUP final, then he got sold to Celtic for £500,000

That is what I call true passion.

So - knowing Lee Martin gives you some authority on this?

I work with a number of Liverpool supporters, none were born in the city of Liverpool - do I use this as a basis for assuming that Liverpool support must come entirely from outside Liverpool and that most Liverpudlians support Everton? No.
But again, people outside of Liverpool support Liverpool because of the passion, we don't win in England, or anywhere generally, ManU supporters in and out of Manchester support on 1 player (I know almost 70% of Norwegians I speak to Support Man U just because of Soljskær or on the basis that they win, hence forth the Slogan : Simply the Best... well, simply the best at winning I imagine .

You'll Never Walk Alone signifies the fans and the team as one unit. I recently got attacked by a lad but due to the help of a fellow LFC supporter, had no problems and after the incident, we talked about the football we so passionately follow, at the time we were both wearing Liverpool shirts, maybe it would happen other places too, but for some reason, and it isn't because I am biased, nobody knows Passion like Liverpool and that Includes Everton, Liverpool is a passionate City with anything, take that lad Rhys who got shot at the age or 9 or something, we played Everton's anthem at our stadium and just like Liverpool's anthem it's not just a simple chant like 'Come on Chelsea' it's a song, a song that makes your body tempreature rise with passion and hunger for the win. Just a shame we suck this season, all the good players and it can't happen for us
Slavia Prague :trophy::hidesbehi
They got 7 in London from Arsenal in Champions league week ago, but i hope they can strike back next week in Prague.

We used to have an office in Manchester, with its very own second-rate Mancunian web designer working in it. He was a United fan. He did take a lot of drugs though, which might explain it.

/aside: I remember one of the girls in the office once asked him if he had a knock-off copy of some software or other, and when he brought her a CD the next morning he'd picked up the wrong one, and gave her a disc full of home-made porn.

I live on the corner of Bootham Crescent, so York City is the only team I'm allowed to support.

Kev, I swear I see like... 14 Rugby and Football (Soccer!) pitches near your bloody house!

Roffles! I've never noticed that before.

Yeah, well... There's Bootham Crescent (sadly now "Kit Kat Crescent") - York City's ground. Then there's some playing fields in the grounds of Bootham Park hospital, and then some more playing fields adjacent to those, part of Bootham school. Then there's St. Peters school across the road (nearer the river) and St. Olaves school next to that. I suppose I am pretty much surrounded by playing fields.

Ooh, there's more! I think the one north of the club pitch is a community centre.
LOL... europarty...

Ohio State!

OH!

Liverpool, there's magic in the club
wait, do you mean what we call soccer here? played with the black and white ball? football in canada and USA is called soccer. football is a totaly differnet (and overly aggressive) sport.

I sort of support the Vancouver white caps. sort of.
Quote from Mazz4200 :Nonsense, name one miserable Geordie...

Tony Blair

(and when was the last time you saw that miserable git Shearer smiling?)

No, Soccer isn't a proper word IMO. Football you use your feet, American-Football you use both hands and feet. Soccer is just America's way of trying to better us, it's typical that THEIR version of Football is more violent and WAR based though

They're just not man enough to play rugby, so they chuck body armour on, let them throw forwards, let them score without pressure on the ball and call it football...wusses, the lot of them!

oops forgot about this, was going to re-edit my post after a few mins with a witty punchline, but got sidetracked. Guess it's to late now

Incidentally TB aint a Geordie, i think he's from Oxford originally ?. But Shearer's smiling all the time, just like Jimmy Nail, Tim Healy, Kevin Whately, Sting and Robson Green, all are well known for being a happy bunch of campers
Quote from Mazz4200 :Incidentally TB aint a Geordie, i think he's from Oxford originally ?

He's a Scot.
Quote from Bean0 :Indeed, and he mostly wore a cheshire cat-like grin most of the time anyway.

...Which was as fake as his 'promises'..

Just thinking of other things we can thank Newcastle for...Ant and bloody Dec...how ANYBODY can think that those two are funny beats me, they are as realistic as Victoria Beckhams boobies!
Australian Rules all the way, and as one eyed Western Bulldogs fan you'll find. I used to like Soccer many years ago and enjoyed the english league we got on television late at night in the 80's. But now days I can't stand the woosies that fall over holding their leg when a gust of wind goes by, so it lost it for me and the hooligans don't give it a good name either. we don't have any high fences around our ovals. As for the grid iron, well it's like chess on grass. too slow too boring. Sorry guy's but I did say I was one eyed. But I do like sporting movies about any football.
