Virtual Side Mirrors
with all the talk in the other sections about ppl needing to learn how to look left and right, might be a idea to have virtual side mirrors in the bottom left and right of the screen.. they dont need to be big or anything.. prob 150-200 pixles wide should be surfice.. just to give ppl an idea of what is near them..

edit: yeah i know there are working side mirrors, but that is only in the cockpit view and ya can only see them if the zoom has been taken right out, then everything looks gimped cause its been crammed into one monitor

I have never even thought about anything else than the cockpit view for this racing simulator. And I always liked the way we got realistic mirrors working, eventhough I only can see the left-side mirror of course. The FOV is fine to me when it is set to cover the left-side mirror, perspective is still pretty natural.

a note: virtual mirror position is adjustable
would be nice to be able to adjust the angle of the side mirrors...
Until the side mirrors render something different than the center mirror, that would be useless. There is no difference in side mirrors and center mirrors. IRL, when a car leaves the rear view mirror, your side mirrors would bring it into view and that isn't the case in LFS yet.

Whilst I understand that to be true, I still find it impossible to NOT look in my side mirrors.
AFAIK, the virtual mirror shows the whole range, while the realistic mirrors all only show a part of it, although the difference isn't that great.

Personally my FOV is too low to see any of the side mirrors, and I don't want to use the virtual mirror either. So I just move the center mirror far enough to the drivers side so I can see it completely. I'm not sure but I think it's even a bit bigger than the virtual mirror in that way.
I use the virtual mirror, always have. I use to move the mirror until I could see it, but at a 65 FOV, I found some cars you can't move the mirror far enough to see it. I think anyways, though it may have been back in S1 demo, not sure.
I think that you should be able to adjust the mirrors to your liking (realisticly)
Good point here about the mirrors. My FOV is about 65% and I use real mirrors. I use left and right looking buttons on wheel. I was thinking it would be nice to set the angle freely to look left/right to adjust that angle precisely to the side mirrors and not looking too much to left/right all the way trough the side windows.
^ Yep, has been suggested quite some times already. Just one thing: you do know that the mirrors stop updating when you look left/right, don't you?

That's a new one to me. I didn't know that, but I don't use the side mirrors anyways for the above reasons. I instant look to 90 degrees.
@AndroidXP, nope didnt know that the mirrors are not updated. Hmm that why I always thought I'm in front!?
