Yeah it does help smooth out the more 'choppy' textures, and texture joining found in LFS. I've played on 1680x1050 on a 22" and I must say, even without AA you still notice the jagged 'stairs' in the cockpit, and throughout the track, but 2x solved that, anything higher didn't make too much of a 'wow' difference...

Edit: Ignore, silly post.

Can you actually tell the difference between 150fps and 250fps in-game?

Unless he's got a 250 hz monitor? No.

I'll give you a hint - with most TFT's you can't see more than 60 FPS.

every thread atm seems to have you spamming bs in it, nobody cares about your crap pc
exactly. i can't even tell the difference between 60-70fps and 200+.
I think you have more respect for your PC than you do the forums... without a doubt Harjun !!
I maybe get AMD Athlon X2 6000+, ASUS nForce500SLI Deluxe (or something like that), 2x 1 GB Geil Ultra 800 Mhz, 8800GT 512 MB for less then 800 €, so I'm very very happy.
ooooo uno u HAVE to get one of these babies as soon as they are available!!

They're for laptops, and we have no idea of the costs and other problems, plus a GFX card will run VERY hot in one.

Wait, why does he have to get one again?
because laptop gfx suck and there is no easy way to make them not suck....

and cost isnt major

Who mentioned a laptop?!

I don't see why most people need ultra-fast gaming laptops - a nice £500 laptop and a 1337 £1000 desktop will give you better performance than a £1,500 laptop.

You need to consider if you actually need that much computing power while on the move (or, ironically with that unit - while sitting next to the mains)
whoa, but my cousin has a nVidia 7600GT in his laptop

He's got a GeForce Go 7600 though, which is not the same as a desktop 7600.

Laptop graphics cards aren't great, though.
Yeah jack is right...

Whats with the sudden obsession of gaming laptops?

Much better off having a decent desktop rig and a mid range laptop.

And I'm on around 20-30FPS while driving online with no-one around me Think I've only ever seen it go over 30 and touch 40 once.

Any-one got any ideas how I can squeeze more out of it?

Hey, my computer is exactly the same except i have 3.06Ghz and i limit my framerate to 30fps because if i dont my steering goes all laggy.

Without limits i do normally get 35-45fps.. Full grids make me go back down to the 15-22fps mark.

edit: Im sure by your knowledge of computers you do have the latest drivers for your graphics card. I downloaded them but the only thing that changed was the Nvidia Control Panel and i probably got 2-3fps better.. So they are pretty useless but its good knowing that your computer is up to date.

Totally! I want one now wonder how cheap they get these days.
Asus eeee is £150
I regret buying a sony vaio. Performance wise, this model is'nt too bad (Vaio G 11VN) and it looks the bee's knee's, but jesus was it overpriced. For this kind of money, i could have got a cheaper, yet better performance laptop, but due to rushing and not looking around, i bought the best one i found on that day .

P.S MSN'ing in bed rules.
My desktops for games, and the laptop is for bed gaming. lol
i <3 my Acer Travelmate 2354LCi... Its used for MSN on those lazy weekend mornings and the occasional word processing.

1.3ghz celeron of raw powa baby .. meh does the job
same, i use my Acer Aspire 5103WLMI, its not bad for msning and interneting and stuff, the AMD Dual core processor does the job
