XF GTI Setup For Blackwood
Hi,

I have been racing the XFG lately, and came up with this setup. I took the basic from Setup Field, but I modified it so it can last for a bit. It's quite a fast setup, and it can handle 20+ laps easilly without havingto change the tires.

Try it, and give your feedback.

PS: I'm a drifter, so slides are easy for me to recover. It might not suit everyone.
i think to everyone the tyres last more than 30 tyres, unless you drive like a maniac....

It's obvious that for everyone the tyres last more than 30 tyres mate

"Lost in translation"

Of course he meant 30 laps...
#5 - Spils

Not for me i have huge problems with the XF GTI and find it hard to get the tires to last more than 5 laps

Specially on any of the inferno sets.. im lucky if i get 3 laps on these sets.
if you got problems to get the tyres to last on the gt or gti you simply have to change your driving style.

agree... I can easily drive XFG with Inferno sets for 10-15 laps (BL1 as an example)
Without warming the tyres I fine that around 10 laps my tyres are the optimal warmth to hitting personal records. Tyres on the xfg can last many laps iv even raced a 50 lap race with only slight degraded perfromance enar the end. And Spils! I hope that was a joke as iI refused to believe you can ruin the tyres whithin 5 laps unless you locking the brakes or sliding/drifting alot. I used pbu's inferno set for the 50 lapper and was amazed at its performance!
You guys might be right... I just couldn't be arsed to race that trash car for more than 20 laps so that's why I wrote that
Still though, tyre wear also depends on your driving and people have different driving styles so its deffinatly plausable.

ps ill have ago with your set and see how fast I can get, I guess that was the main idea of this thread was to test your set?
Tried the setup! was not slippy at all! was nice and grippy. First problem i came across was the massive Max Brake per wheel, when i braked for first corner it locked my wheels and i thoughtIi was gonna crash through the wind screen! did about 1:34.15's. So now I altered the braked to my likeing. For me this was a lot better and hit 1:33.75's. Noticed i was losing a bit of power in the gear changes while braking so changed the final drive to Locked Diff. With this i managed a 1:33.58 which aint to shabby at all! If I practiced more with it I could probably get the time a little lower.

Maybe the reason your tyres are not lasting is because of the large amount of brakes per wheel you use as it seems to lock the brakes causing the car to skid and create bald/flat spots (think that happens on this game?) for brakes per wheel I used
Max per wheel 569 nm
Brake balance (front) 68% if your interested

quite a nice set but I also tend to do what you did and modify others sets
a very good setup, needed to make a few changes to suit my style, reduces brakes, soften suspension slightly, and intruduce a bit more transient oversteer.

one question, why was there hybrids at the back?

overall a great setup, finally got into the 1:34s with it

FWD Cars don't need normals at rear becase they aren't usefull, they don't eat up as fast as the front ones. Nice to see it helped you anyway . D
