Hello,

Just wondering what are the costs involving web design and how do I go about it..

I made a free web just for a estimate of what I would like it to look like.

www.kevinosullivan.page.tl

would like a bit more superior tho

anyone know any good web designers and where to look for one

cheers

Kevin
Please remove any google-analytics.com hosted scripts or get them hosted locally >.<
Sorry but what do you mean by that ?
Your site accesses some tracking scripts hosted at google-analytics.com. I'm currently on a pretty fast line, the sort that downloads an 8meg file in about 5 secs. Yet, I'm having to wait for absolute ages (I've had to wait for over a minute at times) for any page that links to google-analytics.com to load completely. It's, without exaggerating, f'ing annoying.
Ok sorry,

tbh didnt know it took that long to load.
WebFirstSolutions - He is a friend of mine and he could do anything you want. He is a really nice guy, very understanding, honest and really quick with his work.

Tell him Niall Drew sent you and he will cut you an even better deal

I really really hate you right now.

Don't, because that speed drops to < 10kb/s at peak uni hours (like now, although it's graduation week so it's not quite that bad) and the net as a whole is quite unusable

Nah, I still hate you. We pay ~$80 for a 384kbps line and 3GB access per month.
cheer's lads
well what do ye think of the layout of the one I have done ?
Commenting strictly on the layout itself, it's pretty functional - I like the layout of Tristan's site for that kind of motorsport related content, and yours follows that fairly closely.

I know they actually share nothing in common with regards to the coding itself, but that's a different matter. Joomla may be something to look into though for easy content management.

As for the colours/design etc, nothing wrong with it, personally I would never use a pre-made template, but for a quick setup you might get away with it.

I would offer to help but unfortunately I've got more work than I can actually do at the moment, sorry.
Thanks mate.

I take the advice in to consideration

Hmm. His markup is a bit iffy though, no doctype declaration either.

Actually it's worse than that - a bunch of head elements start turning up half-way down the home page. Should really be taking more care over his own site if he's trying to sell himself.

Woot! If only that was due to talent on my part! I like Joomla - makes websites easy for dunces like me
Quote from pb32000 :Mmmm no Doctype, HTML4, tables, what little CSS there is in the html etc...

Agreed, that's fairly hideous. And what's with that alignment offset, looks very weird.

The guy can't even spell properly, notice his animated flash banner reads 'puting you first' Oh RLY?

[tk@hybris:~]$ host pagead2.google-analytics.com
Host pagead2.google-analytics.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

Local BIND works a treat with entire (sub)domains I think my NULL zones total around 200 domains

I just use Firefox with Noscript
Here is his contact page, tell him, not me...
Try here I'm sure I can meet whatever needs you have at a competitive price. Yay, self-advertising
James also cooks a very good breakfast!

(James, were you not one of the people who helped on the redesign of RSC?)
On that note - isn't it horrid. Easily the most vile forum I've ever seen, let alone used!
It'd be nice if I wasn't restricted to 1/2 my screen space, I still use the old theme for that reason.
