The online racing simulator
The most annoying thing is the AI
if it is in LFS it should enable enjoyable driving to try out how far you cang go without annoying real people. It does not.

Typical situation:
High Power cars, like the XRT or FO8. Good rated AI drivers with lots (>200 rounds) of training with that car. Warm tyres.

Two in front of me, I'm third.
Number two breakes even more early than usual I brake too to avoid collision only to be ignored and crashed head on tail by number four.
I struggle to keep control only to be smacked by number five.
Now there must have been yellow flags everywhere for seconds.....!
But no, at least two more collisions happen and I'm last with a broken suspension or two. The AI pack is over the horizon.

Well, THAT is annoying!

Yup, just about everyone around here would agree with you Thomas. There have been numerous threads about the AI's lack of "I" and I'm sure the devs will improve them in good time.
LFS is still a WIP and it's known that there are a lots of things that need tweaking and improving. Maybe stick to racing humans for now...for the record though, I've met more than a couple of human drivers online that haven't been much better than the AI
No, on his actual point, very few would agree. Yes, the AI is probably the most under-developed thing right now, but no, it is not "the most annoying thing", well atleast for me there are far more important things then the AI in an online racing simulator.
Well yeah, most people would agree they need to be "fixed", not that they're annoying. Most people here (I'm guessing) would stick to MP racing and wouldn't race with the AI much at all, and therefore wouldn't find them annoying
It's better than GT4's AI.
I think AI seems so stupid because of that reason too that LFS' online play is so good. And in my opinion it shouldn't be in first place on the "most urgent things to do" list.

Amen to that. Some humans have really forgot to attach their brain before driving

1. After some training (200 laps in mixed classes) the AI does rather well in speed and fairness. They can keep a "low average public server"-pace and know where they can take over. They keep distance and they can even drive through a corner when you are on the ideal line and they have to maneuver around you.
2. After enough training they evade too much. They keep well over half a car distance, which can get them off the track without a real need to that.
3. They really have problems with RWD cars. They drift a lot, because they always try to become even better, and become worse in effect.
4. They kill each other on down-force cars, because they are unaware that drafting reduces downforce, making them USELESS on any downforce car.
5. Will someone please give them tyre-temp-awareness? It's too sad to see 85% of the AIs fail to take lap one because they expected warm tyres.
Or at least give them optimal-temp-tyres at racestart.

When you are lucky and 50% of the AI-field survives the first lap in good shape you can really have a great race with the AI. There is no problem with close fights, even between three cars. I often drive Kyoto National 20 laps in XRG with 6 AI-XRGs (with my setup) and 5 AI-XFGs (with tuned-down setup).
