Good luck to everyone and thanks for all the help and support in getting this league system to the stage it's currently at. It has truly been a community project and I don't think we could have got this far without that help. I hope that everyone gets a good return back on their commitment and time they've spent with us over the past few weeks. We certainly have already enjoyed every minute of it to date. It's been a lot of fun. Thanks !
Now, early to bed. No alcohol or sex on the night before the race. I expect this advice is too late for most of you
I never said anything about bad racing dru. I only said it was a bit hectic.
People didnt know what to do after a crash what made it hectic.
The reason I left becus I couldnt rejoin after i crashed at T1. And as far as i can remember i didnt critising anybody.
Sory but now you are critising to be honest.
I won't mention any names, but i remember several situations where side-by-side racing was going on and neither party seemed to realise - this culminated in 6 cars going side-by-side (2-wide) in a line round the flat out bend next to the wall after the first split - the two guys at the front didn't see each other, the 2 guys behind them drove into each other avoiding the crash and the 2 guys behind that didn't have a chance to do anything but crash.
The one thing i see as a "wasted feature" in LFS is the look left/right buttons - no-one ever uses the bloody things!
Guys, calm down. The league hasn't even started yet and you're at each others throats. I dread to think what the atmosphere will be like after tonight's event
Typical bloomin' race drivers. There's not one that ain't a pain in the ass. I include myself as well
If people want to critisie they can, but people should always look at their own accidents and how they drive before critising others.
Last night and EVERY race upto tonight is considered practice, therefore do not judge a book by its cover
I also laugh at the fact that the only people who complain are the people who consistantly end up NOT finishing racing. If you actually bothered to stay and watch other races that went on you would find that they were actually very clean and maybe that you could review the replays between those races and the ones that you were involved with to see the differneces
Catch you all later and good luck
Dru.
Drive sensibly and everything will be fine, know the limits of your cars, respect your fellow drivers and the rest as they say will be history.
like I said i only left bcus i couldnt join. And I spend about 3 hours there so it was enough. I think i did spend a lot of time to it during testing . And sure i will not always finish, bcus when i have a crash and the car is damaged i get off track so I wont bother others.
So instead of thinking for myself i always have think of others that i will be blocking by a damaged car. Bcus I think a damaged car isnt raceable and shout get off track. Like real life racing a car damaged isnt driving around on track. We seem to have a different opion there no probs.
I'm not going to dwell but just think of this for one moment Dru...... you have put in the time in laps (as many have) and are one of the few that consistently put in times in the 1.19. As a result you rarely find yourself in the thick of it at the back fighting it out! Before you get on your high horse telling people why they are shit and pointing fingers, you might realise that out in the front you don't get the shit you do at the back!!!!!!!
I can certainly say in many of the practice sessions Niels and I haven't finished because we were taken out...... more than our SHIT driving as you seem to think bvy your finger pointing:
glad you find it funny! Don't fall off your perch!
Last night i started most races at or near the back after you left and like i have said - there was no problems.
Sure some situations are different but like people are saying no one is calling ANYONE a bad driver. People just need to do their best, have a bit of luck and will be fine.
The problem with people generally at the back is they think they can in the first lap goes as quick as the leaders, they can not
They have to drive in a reacting way to the cars in front, but they don't they want to stay as close to the car in front in possible, thats where the problems start.
When people have worked this out, you will find like i keep say that the racing throughout the field will be much better and safer/cleaner, call it what you will
Like i say i expect a few issues at the start of races, but these will calm down once people are used to it and know how to drive in a pack together safely
Stablex, nobody is saying that the guys at the back are shit. In fact everyone who gets a seat in this league will be competative and that actually may be part of the problem but somebody has to be at the back, no ?
I purposefully asked to be placed down the field last night because I needed the practise as I know it requires even more skill to fight in the pack and remain alive. It can be done but I certainly recognise you need a certain amount of good fortune but most importantly, a great deal of co-operation from fellow drivers. There's no quick, neat answer. We just have to learn to deal with what the race throws at us and learn as we go.
I suspect there's a bit of pre-race nerves going on here ATM. Go and have a good stiff drink to ease the pressure. On second thoughts, better not .....
guys everyone has off's in motorsport its part and parcel of racing on the edge. its supposed to be fun, and it is, not every race is clean and perfectly sterile, sometimes mixing it up, gambling a bit and having moments of intense pressure and more happening in split seconds is what were all here for. i know a clean race is a good race, but sometimes you may have 5 or 6 laps and then a shunt which goes bad but all the good parts are forgotten.
i want everyone to just curse their luck if races go bad, dont curse other drivers! murphy's law is most certainly the cause of most of the incidents ive ever seen in babyr, no matter who the driver is. were all mates here even though were competing, just try to accept that things happen and dont worry be 'appy. :grouphug:
