Not sure what's up but I keep getting kicked for smiling. CTRA servers states that I am spamming?? I can assure you I do not spam, this has just started happening recently. Think it's happened to other folks as well. Maybe something up with the spam filter?

I suppose I could be a grumpy sod and never smile but hey come on I'm a happy chappy

The spam filter is intended to stop excessive hotkey use, and for the main part it's very effective. Every now and again it's an annoyance, as you've found out, but tbh we've seen enough of the alternative, and we really prefer the lack of spam

LOL! I'm suffering severe insomnia at the moment! It also doesn't help that I'm addicted to Roswell, which is on at 4am and 6am every morning

Also, I like to call him when there's a post, just to mindlessly ring up phone bills (and piss him off! )

Damnit, I hate when I get kicked for spamming, tho I didn`t spam.
Like today, was racing and hadn`t spoken for over a minute, then I paste a smily because someone said something funny "kicked for spamming". Seriously, fix this bug NOW!

It's realism. Real race drivers don't smile. Atleast not with their head tilted sideways.

yeh have same problem...for example...someone causes a crash and says sorry....so if i don't wanna look like a p*ssed off jerk(like many are) i atleast smile for anserw...so he knows that he had his forgiveness,

The rules are actually quite clear on that, words are cheap but action is noble. Whilst there are times when an appology seems apt if you do the decent thing then most of the time that wont matter, and you really shouldn't be getting detected by the spam filter for how often you say sorry.

This is why, if I'm in an accident, I'll let the person past, and while regaining speed, type a short, personalized sorry message. Avoids spam filter, does the action bit of letting him by, and is more heartfelt then "Ram, sorry bind, continue".

Meaning that the system now discounts apologies, or meaning "shut the hell up and drive"?

Meaning that if you crash so frequently that the SPAM FILTER detects your appologies then the reporting system will soon be banning you anyway.

In my opinion, which I know counts for absolutely nowt , saying sorry using a hotkey is better than saying nothing at all. I'm afraid that, unlike some other folks, multi-tasking is not my strongest point so I cannot type and drive at the same time. Hotkey is my only option then. I've never actually been spam kicked for saying sorry btw, only for smiling in response to someone appologising to me

I think the actions speak loudest way of letting anyone youve bashed off back past is the best way, however if theres a slight "nerf" (1st time Ive properly used that word lol) I make a mental note to appologise and check the driver is ok after the race has finished.

many times Ive made contact and slowed to allow a driver to rejoin and repass only to see them telepit or spectate doh!

Better to not chat at all and concentrate on the driving
