Given what you've got on there already, I'd say some Feeder (suggested: Just a Day, Shatter, High, 7 Days in the Sun, Yesterday Went Too Soon), The Frattellis (Chelsea Dagger, Baby Frattelli, Got My Nuts from a Hippy) and Foo-Fighters (god there are so many, Monkey Wrench, One by One, Stacked Actors, DOA??) are absoulte musts mate.

Other suggestions: Artic Monkeys, Hard-Fi, Stone Roses, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Star Sailor, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse.

How about Asian Dub Foundation ? One of the few bands that can do the punk rock/dance fusion thing convincingly, whilst also being completely committed, in life and performance, to the lyrical content too. See them live... Damn, they're good.

Noticed Miles Davies on the list: why not plough that furrow a little deeper: 'Tone Dialing' by Ornette Coleman, or maybe some Pharoah Saunders or Sun Ra?

Bless ADF, they were proper awesome. It's so rare to get a band who not only speak no bullshit but have kickass tunes too.

Hopefully soon I'll also be able to recommend something by my own band too. Sadly the only recordings available are with their old singer, and I'm way better than him

And since you listed for example Alanis Morissette, I would recommend Anastacia and Maria Mena. That's as good as pop music gets IMO.
