Lacrosse thread/question
Before I post this. This is the 3rd thread that the similar topics thing hasn't picked up on.

Ok. Now the actual thread:

I'm exclusively a field lacrosse player (attack). A friend suggested I practice indoors, mainly as it's the sole place I can practice while on the course.

The gym at the course I'm on is big enough for box (just about), so my questions are...

1) Is there a difference between the equipment used for field and box

2) Similar to #1. Is there a difference in skill sets?

3) How likely am I to get hurt falling onto a hard wood floor instead of a grassy pitch?

4) How the heck do I convince people to stop playing soccer so I can practice? I'm tempted to loose off a few shots at them...*evil grin*

Note: The course is at 9am tomorrow...can any of you reply quickly please?

I, for one, love playing soccer.

Anywho, do you play lacrosse in competition? And if you do, then don't you play outside at all times?

Indoor's have walls, the can prove to be massive obstacles. You will probably get used to the indoors and start playing lacrosse outside like you would inside, if you get what I mean.

As for the soccer players... Ask them kindly if you can use the gym for certain days of the week. Don't flame at them, it'll only make the situation worse

Hope everything works out mate.
1), Equipment is similar, all I can recall differing is that the defence had those big frikking sticks in Field
2) Box lacrosse (indoor) is a more physical game, so, you need the same sets of skills as field, along with a more physical presence on the floor
3) Wear Knee-Pads, and make sure they stay on your knees. I don't, just because they are terribly uncomfortable.
4) I dunno, Soccer's gay anyways... :hide:
Thanks Dustin. I'll point my mentor to this thread, see if she can offer any insight. Handy when I can email from me phone

Now for my pre-coffee trying to remember ramblings :P

1) In field, the goalie has a damn big stick. So (If I remember right) do the defense.

2) EEK! I'm 1m83, thin as a beanpole, but FAST.

3) I'll wear thick clothes for practicing today

4) +10000000000000 :P (I /hate/ indoor soccer. Every week at the course, there's an indoor soccer tournament, and EVERYONE drops what they are doing to join in >< Even the staff who run it.)

Crit, you wanted pictures? I'm not taking any buddy, sorry

That practice was costly...

Went over and twisted my foot
