decreased performance[solved, basically]
so I changed nothing concerning the ati settings, but suddenly i'm getting 20 frames per second instead of the 100 i was getting before. i tried setting the AA and anisotropic filtering down, but that gave me an even lower frame rate. is there something i can do?
I have an ATI X600 in my pentium D 3.00 ghz comp with 2 GBs of ram.
did you change something else with your software/hardware when this happened?
no. Also when i quit, cpu usage is zero, so its not another program pulling it down.
Is anything else effected? Web browsing, other games etc.
its weird. Flight Simulator works perfectly and so does web browsing. I haven't tried re-installing lfs or the drivers tho. I really don't know what to do. On servers the fps is 10 whereas it was around 40-50. I can't play like that at all.
oh and i just tried setting all graphics to their lowest setting and that gave me +2 fps. I really hope I'm not the only one who has ever had this problem. If it helps to know, I updated the driver a few weeks before this happened and it worked fine for a while. help me I'm getting race withdrawal!

Are you sure AA/AF hasn't been accidentally turned on/up?
Sounds like the classic ATI driver issue to me.

I would roll back to an earlier driver, some ATI drivers are well known to cause issues with LFS.
ok so i restarted my computer, which should have maybe been the first thing i did, and the fps is back up, but graphics have taken a considerable hit. whatever im kinda just glad i can play again. when I turn AA/AF on even 4X (which was fine before all of this) i get fps too low to play. so..whatev.
