Hi all! well, I was racing at a karting track over the weekend which was quite enjoyable so I was wondering if anyone here would be kind enough to recreate this layout in LFS?
well, I've just been talking to the event organiser and he told me the track is 1205 meters. The best lap with a 9HP kart is 1:14. I'll ask him how wide is it soon
I've started makin' this for ye, just want to know what the lap time is for the real track? Just to see is it close. 1 flying lap on mine is around the 53sec mark but the track isn't finished yet.
Ok, I finished it. See what you think or anyone else who wants to try it... I think my quickest time was 49secs, just so you can compare it to the real track...
I've attached some screenshots to look at. I didn't use barriers for all the track, I tried it that way and it was way to tight. Hope this works...
I can try another way if this doesn't work. I did it there so I wouldn't have to move the start so that the layout can be used for a race, but I'm not sure how it will work for racing, we'll see.
Thanks for that lads, it could have been abit better/nicer if there wasn't a limit to the amount of objects. EDIT: I could also say "it could have been life like if there wasn't a limit to amount of... "stuff" a pc can do" lol... so yeah, it's grand as it is.
Nice layout, did a 53 in the MRT with my mouse (CBF setting up the wheel for afew laps).. Mouse was really skipping.
No excuses though, i got a 53 . and not trying to compare an MRT with a kart, i just decided to use the MRT
EDIT: 50.9 with a wheel
Now a 49.9 .. you all may not care about my laptimes, but i havent played LFS much, and i really REALLY miss hotlapping in LFS and rac ing in general!!!
What times are others getting?
Ive tried afew driving styles around this track, very fun to drive in.
Some reason handbrake not working with any car, so ive tried sliding around (or drifting if u wanna put it) and got some alright laptimes, some 51s, late 50s. then i tried using the cones as a way to slide me into a hairpin and take out fast (get my rear wheel to nudge them) and then i went for clean smooth laps which got me the 49.9.
The cone technique really really is good in a way believe it or not if done correctly. Could get mid 49s or low even using it better, but more slides, tyres will die out.
Ive tried the Race, Autocross(50.9) and a AS cadet setup (49.9). Im not really good with setups, more just driving and techniques/styles so i dont have a setup for anyone to try sorry .
Top track btw! Fun in the MRT, not a car i like alot, but cool.
well, after about a 10 lap run, got 52.81 with maximum intake restriction (28 HP) to get it as close to karts as possible, max suspension stiffness and max rear brakes . Nuts, truly nuts
i went on this track when i was in sharm last year its a great track i pulled a 120.02 (best time they had, may have been beaten) in the normal karts they have. i was in a hotle just down the road and spent most of my holiday on that track
well, currently, the top time is 1:14, so sorry, yes it has been beaten . I've never driven on the international layout so I don't have any times to compare myself to.
Nice track, but bad owner, bad karts and almost everything else about it is like that
