Hazard lights: Why do they turn off?
Well any hazard lights ive seen are a push button or a switch of some kind and they dont turn off randomly when you stop or drive away?

I would think it would be an improvement for them to stay on until I switch them back off?

Minor I know, but just something that I think would be nice?
What exactly do you do to make them switch off? Because for me they stay on forever if I don't turn them off myself...

it happens sometimes if you cause a yellow and come to a stop and drive away, or spin out and drive away, right? (am i going mad?)
I have to turn mine off if i ever use it, usally they turn off if like you said, Yellow flag, or plow into a wall. ect.
Huh, I just tried it and you're right, they turn off when you crash. Never noticed that, though maybe that's because there's rarely ever a reason to actually turn them on during a race.

Well if I am limping back to the pits and have broken parts that make me slow and possible unstable in corners then I use the hazards, but say if you spin out because of said damage they turn off.
if you crash into a wall at 60-100 mph you dont honestly think they'll stay on do you.
press number 7 on your keyboard to turn the left indicator on. Press 8 to turh the right one on. Press 9 for your hazards and to turn them off, hit something or press 0 on your keyboard.
And most important: before you press "submit reply", read the thread
They also turn off after a pit stop.

Yes. Why do you have evidence to proove otherwise?

The engine is still running the lights still work nothing is broken, not only that but I can switch the hazards back ON again after. Please enlighten me as to what it is that make hazard lights turn off on automobiles in an accident.
its just common sense that tells you that a hit 60 mph or faster into a wall would be enough. Inferring that you mean a angled hit and not a mere scrap.

Even then are you that lazy to just reach over and hit a key?

hazard lights dont switch off automatically in a crash. they switch off if the circuit has been broken and power lost from damage. that damage is not modelled in LFS. they are switching off automatically because of other reasons that are unnatural. do you disagree?
In real life they probably would turn off in a crash, but in LFS they shouldn't turn off every time you bump or scrape a wall.
actually, if a car crashes in real life and there is damage done to the circuit (not the hazard system with the relais) then hazards tend to go on. I've seen it with my own eyes a couple of times.

My car automatically turns the hazard lights on when I floor the brake pedal... so I'm pretty sure they would turn on in case of a crash (I didn't try, and I don't intend to :P)
it's strange they don't turn on when you crash... it could prove a bit useful
My car turns them on if it detects a crash, and the interior lights come on, most modern ones do.
It also turns off after a loooong time.

This is failure in game, what you should get from such crash is that you have steering wheel, but it has replace your yaw, then there is some mess which was once dasboard and engine, that is covered by your guts, car should not be running and as battery is crushed in pieces spilling acid all over your face there is no electricity to lit any lights, that is what would happen in reality with street car
Im unsubscribing from this thread and no longer replying. enjoy your hazard lights, cant say I didnt try. cya around

Actually in real life on high end cars when a crash is detected the hazards turn on automatically
