Skinning noob question
A) Is there a good Paintshop Pro template available anywhere that layers all the sections of the car

B) Do I have to make all my graphics the same aspect ratio as the skin so it's not stretched in the game or is there a better way to do this....
Erm, there are templates - have a look at Master Skinnerz. I think they're mostly meant for Photoshop, but they work with Paint Shop Pro.

A good way is to rezise the skin/template whilst you do the sides of the car and the roof. You can do them in normal ratio. Then resize back to a square skin to do the bits that are the proper aspect ratio when square.
Thanks Tristan.

Indeed I saw the templates (actually did look before instantly posting) but I haven't found one yet that works "well" with PSP, since as stated, they are PhotoShop oriented and the whole purpose of the layers seems to be defeated in PSP...

As far as resizing the skin during modification - I guess then that one just has to use trial & error to find the correct aspect ratio for each car...

Ok then.

Thank you.
Was it at Master Skinnerz that you got the templates? Bunta made awesome 2048x2048 templates with wireframe layers and each individual section of car on separate layers. They are Photoshop files, but I open them fine with PSP8. Warning though, unzipped they are about 25 mb file size. Bunta's Pro templates are all I use. Also there is a file posted at Master Skinnerz I think that gives you the stretch ratio for different areas of the car. They are not all stretched the same. So then you could just reduce the logo/graphic that much for whatever area you want it for.
I'll try that tonight, thank you so much!

Hopefully the layers work in PSP9 also (can't see why it wouldn't)
