Not moving steering wheel
Just a very smalll "improvement" which should only take about 10minutes for Scawen to implement.

An option that the wheel in the cockpit does not turn.
But it should stay there. So for me it is confusing to see the wheel in a diffeerent lock than my wheel at home.
Also the relation to wheel lock in game and turning rate from the car is not realistic.
So it would be better to have a static wheel option but with the display in it.

The virtual display if you turn off the visual wheel in game is very bad and to big.

What wheel do you own? and what settings do you drive with?

eg: settings in wheel profiler(degrees of rotation)?

LFS internal settings(Wheel turn, wheel turn compensation and Analogue steer smooth)?
to me a non moving wheel is even more confusing... I rarely look at wheel rotation tho, don't you supposed to watch on the road?
dcToro - perhaps it would be a good idea to just turn the ingame steering wheel off completely and focus on the wheel that's actually doing the steering.
make a stationary wheel from cardboard and place in on your monitor
What Bob said, turn the in-game wheel off. I don't understand how anyone can race with 2 steering wheels viewed, yours and the in-game. You already have a wheel in front of you.

The only thing I don't like about the in-game wheel is how the gauges are mounted on the wheel in the open wheelers. The floating gauges ruin it for me in open wheelers.

(of course, gamepad, joystick, mouse, and keyboard users do not apply)
I wonder how the "wheel off" view is going to look like with FBMW and other cockpits whenever they finally come?

Currently it looks like it's just a black box with the same stuff that's in the actual wheel in FO8/BF1 (pic 1). At least the grey borders should be removed, distracting.

IMHO should be better if it had the part of the wheel model (pic 2) just as a non-moving texture/model (similar to Netkar Pro).

For my settings, i have just the wheel on and not the driver. If anything, i find the driver more distracting than the wheel.

+1 to the suggestion though, as im sure some people would be happy with it
I always have the driver off. Since I'm him I don't need to see him

I'd like to switch the wheel off too, but I really don't like the big overlay that replaces it on the open-wheelers. It's too big and it's in the wrong place for me and it's not aesthetically pleasing (woo, I got that in an actual conversation!).
@CSU1: I have a momo ff. My wheel steering is set to 240 deg. I try wheel compensation from 0 to 1 and back, but no setting is really correct. I drive only open wheelers. I know that the fo8 e.g. has a ingame lock of 270 deg. There is no way to have it absolut correct anyway.
And the relation between wheel and cockpit steering behaviour is definately not correct too.

@Bob and mrodgers: like i wrote i do not like to drive with no ingame wheel, because the virtual information display is crap. To big and in wrong position if you have another view in cockpit.

So a static wheel would be the best option. The drivers who want it could turn the moving wheel off. Others let it move. Simple!

@Dajmin: Me too

Maybe someone of you do remember the old Grand Prix series from Microprose. There was only a static ingame wheel. Thats how i would like it to have
Quote from dcToro :I know that the fo8 e.g. has a ingame lock of 270 deg.

FO8 has 450 degs.

Yes, there is. Set your wheel's rotation to match the ingame wheel's rotation. This results in absolutely perfect matching between the physical wheel and the onscreen one. If it isn't too much of a technical issue, maybe this could be implemented, but I can't see a whole new option sprouting up just because one person doesn't like the way things are done now.

I think it's more likely that we will be able to customise the replacement LCD screen that we already get when the wheel is removed in a single-seater.

Sam
Customizing the LCd would also help

@deggis: The Fo8 has 450? Maybe thats the problem ... I will try it tomorrow.

If i would have looked at it with opened eyes i should have noticed that, lol. Shame on me.

And how much has the FOX exactly?
